This is a terrific deal for beginners. Buy these pieces separately & you'll pay a lot more. If you already have a few pieces of track, this extends your layout capabilities, allows you to integrate turnouts, signals, & other electronics. All with the quality Marklin is known for.

Buy this if you're an expert. Neophytes - look elsewhere.
The fabrication seems flawless - it's German, after all. The instructions are completely inadequate. This is billed as a basic add-on to a rudimentary track set. The instructions provide absolutely zero information how to set it up. Since my daughter and I are complete beginners at model railroading we can't use it, for now. I contacted Märklin and received no response. A perfect tool with totally inadequate instructions is useless. And this one is expensive, to boot. The seller did a fine job, and I'm sure the item is fine also. This rant is directed completely at Märklin's nonexistent customer service.
