Stroboframe 400-100 Professional Action Handle / Grip Stabilizer for DSLR & Video Cameras

If these are still available you should buy one. Strong alluminum construction and design. A cut above the other plastic versions. I am not sure why Tiffen discontinued this great product but they either were loosing money or lost their manufacturing contract on this model. The design is great for DSLRs and smaller cameras that you need a handle for. It also has an accessory mount for a light and microphone. I could say the only others that are equivalent to this model range: Shape Paparazzi for $139 the rest are around $300 on up. Yes the more expensive ones are more versatile and have better mounting but for the price the Tiffen Strobofram V-Glider is awesome. I wish I would have bought it sooner.

I've started filming a bit more seriously recently and wanted to try out filming skaters while myself being in movement. This is a great handle for my canon 600D, anything bigger than that might not sit very well while holding it. The most important part for me was the material (and so, of course, the durability) and this one is made of metal, which is a great feature. It feels very stable and it's small so great to transport around. I miss it whenever I'm filming handheld.It's also great that you can tighten the screw without needing a coin, it's easy by hand.For the price, I would more than recommend it.

Wonderful! Nice weight and durability due to the metal construction. My Canon 60D has built in Image Stabilization, however when filming and holding the camera body grip, there is still noticeable shake in the videos from my hand muscles, even more pronounced after filming for a bit and muscle fatigue sets in. This product really does stabilize shots and allows smooth panning. Very comfortable to use and feels like a substantial camera "rig" so-to-speak. I'm a total amature, but this makes me feel more professional and it goves me the confidence to pretend that I am doing professional work! :)

Get this one. As others mentioned it is made of sturdy metal; not cheap plastic. Unlike the cheap plastic options this unit does not bend or move about when you walk. The standard picture from the seller doesn't show the shoe adapter (with red tightening knob for your attachments). The brown shown is a durable cork material. At the base of the frame is a knob that attaches (metal thread) to the camera/video unit. The opposite side of this knob is plastic threaded hole and could attach to a tripod (I did not test).Note: You may smell a strong plastic scent when your first open the packaging. Just air it out overnight and the scent is greatly reduced.

Well made, like the metal instead of plastic handle like the others have. Great to have the cork lining on the base. It helps to stabilize and support handling of the camera, but it only minimally stabilizes video when you are walking around doing video. Granted, if you want really smooth video, you have to invest in one of the big body mount stabilizers that have the counter weights. But this Stroboframe is a good start for those of us who want to start doing video and need to have more flexibility and stabilization when shooting video and stills.

I purchased the "scorpion" style Zeikos ZE-VH26 Deluxe Video Bracket a couple of years ago. It's an ubiquitous bracket that is sold under many brand names and used most often by skateboard videographers. It's lighweight, and made of cheap plastic. Which makes it not a very stable bracket when mobile with a camera.THIS is the bracket to get! It's almost the same "scorpion" form factor of the aforementioned brakets, and it's all metal. It is of a quality that it want need to be replaced. But most of all... it is rock solid. So, adding a monitor and mic to the rig is no problem.

Works like a charm. The build quality it stunning for the price point, as similar frames to this are made of plastic. If you're comparing this to the similarly or slightly lower prices plastic variations, I highly recommend you go with the sturdy metal frame. I would rather trust my heavy, expensive equipment with something I know will hold it no matter what.

the stroboframe 400-100 works well with dslr's like the canon 5d but not so well on lightweight consumer handi cams. at the price it's worth throwing in with your kit as it might come in handy one day.
