Crayola DIY Gallery Wall Art Set & Origami Kit, Craft Kit, Over 30 Pcs

I bought this about a month into quarantine because I was bored and had to occupy my time somehow and I love it!!

I've used metallic markers in the past and these pearlescent markers/pens are basically the same - shake, put pressure on the tip a few times to get the ink flowing and go. But these are so much cooler. The results on white and black are different - sometimes subtly, or in the case of the "white/color changer" 100% different (It looks blue on white paper.)The gel sticks really remind me of lipstick - rich, smooth colors. Twisting the end extrudes the gel. When it comes to art, I'm "meh." I can detail paint decently, use metallic and pearlescent markers/pens to accent things (I nicely detailed a replica carousel horse last year) and finish cosplay props. But ask me to create a portrait or landscape and you'll have something that your kid would laugh at.I can appreciate quality materials, and I love these. The pens/markers are easy to use and the ink/gel flow is consistent. There's a nice selection of papers including several origami sheets, pearlescent sheets and textured card-stock papers.Included is also a 4 mage guide with instructions, origami ideas and layout ideas for your wall using the included materials.Photos: Markers and sticks on black paper with and without bright light, and on white paper. This thing was a real hit in my house, where several use craft paper and draw.At it's heart it's a simple product: about 20 sheets of nice paper, much of it deep but beautiful colors along the purple/blue spectrum, and eight great markers, four of which are shiny gel (that look awesome on dark paper). You can do a little origami, with included guides, but you can also make all kinds of creative crafts or simple artwork.The gel markers (or pens, I suppose) require some shaking and proper technique to get the ink flowing, but the performance is great. Colors pop on light or dark paper, and if you use regular pens for art, you can accent nicely with the gel pens. They also work great on clothing. I marked some uniforms to identify ownership, and it looks professional, but if you're doing that, I recommend getting them working on paper and then finish on your cloth. These gel pens shimmer. They aren't exactly metallic, and I like the subtle effect. The quality is very apparent.The variety of paper is great. The card stock feels substantial, the pearl sheets look very classy. You'll have lots of ideas immediately!As an activity kit, this was such a hit we were going to the store to get more paper within a few days, which to me is a great sign. Kits like this often show you what you like. This would be a great gift before a roadtrip, or if you're visiting a place where there's not a lot to do.This is a quality over quantity set, and it's not for everyone. If you're hoping to just doodle for hours, get some colorful pencils and a big sketchpad. If you do that and get really good at it, get this set and frame your results!

I bought this present for my niece and I was so excited - however when it came it was damaged. The box was torn on all edges and it appeared to have been retaped. Better off buying it at a store.

I love giving my children ways to work their fine motor skills AND create. As they get older - I am delighted to find this set with the gel markers and paint markers, the nice variety of papers and origami instructions that are easy enough to follow. They also are enjoying making their own variations - give cards layered, caligraphy style writing.This set is wonderful to use as described AND for added creativity!

When I opened this trim slim box I was happily surprised to see the contents and even happier to use the contents!I had an art night with some friends, using this box only - we passed paper and markers around, sharing, enjoying and adding to our artwork with color, design and sometimes hilarious results. The markers and papers were "made for each other" and were very forgiving in some cases, since they were being held and used by different hands using different strokes and strengths.Whoever put this kit together had a great sense of color as well as the potential of this kit. Crayola rules!!!

My granddaughter loves this art set from Crayola. It affords her the opportunity to make somewhat unconventional, and more challenging, art projects, and she’s very proud of her resulting projects – as well she should be.The included materials are all of the highest quality, as one would expect from Crayola, and produce very bright and colorful results. The set affords an easy familiarization with the art of origami, as the projects of that nature are pretty basic, which is in line with her previously non-existent skills in that arena.Priced reasonably for such a set, I can strongly recommend it for your kids.
