ECS Boards – Bulldog V-Flex Short Surfboard – Shortboard Surfing Board

Update: I have surfed this board 20-30 times in everything form small ankle slappers to a couple of feet over head and really like the way it paddles and surfs. I have several boards and this is now my go to.The 5’10” Board arrived last night. It was well packed and in new condition. The ECS website described the 5’10” as 34 liters but this one was marked as 32 liters. I put a thruster fin set-up, traction pad and wax on the board and took it out in 5’ - 7’ so cal swell this morning as was stoked. The board paddles well and was super fun. I transitioned from a 35 liter 5’10” hypto crypto and think this will be my new everyday board.

The bulldog is a fun shape and catches waves quick. Low entry rocker with enough nose flip to not pearl on late drop ins. The tail is wider than I expected (I thought it was a closer shape to the hypto krypto) but it wasn’t a bad thing as it loosen the board up a lot, especially in a quad set up. Solid inexpensive board!

First surf today and was so much fun. It catches waves super easy, felt like a kid again in a candy store. The bulldog performs exactly as described and is such a cool board, super light and strong. It's the perfect board for the small east coast waves. Well done guys thank you for putting the smile back on my face. Awesome quality and value. Would definitely purchase again!

Too many imperfections in the board to not be considered a blemish board. The fins are insanely tight. It took a lot of unnecessary force to get them to seat flush. I don't even know if I'll be able to take them back out in order to box the board up and return it. It's a shame too, I was really excited for this board to get be back in the water after taking time off. It seemed like it fit my needs perfectly but I paid a premium price, I expect a premium product.

Just bought this board and took it to OBX for two weeks. I've been riding it mostly as a quad and it's great! A lot of speed, great flex, responsive turns, and can hold in the critical sections. It was perfect for the left-hand racers in Frisco and could hold its own at the lighthouse groin pit. It does have its limits, and at a few feet overhead you're going to want a proper step-up with a little more rocker and a little less nose volume. Otherwise, I think the "quiver killer" description is accurate. Great all around board for the US east coast. The carbon fiber wrapped EPS and bamboo deck can take a beating too.

Great board!!! However, I had to return it twice for damage during shipping. The 3rd board had a small ding on the rail, but I kept it because I was tired of waiting for another to be shipped.
