Work well with old leading-edge dimmer switch
I had 12 old GU10 halogen bulbs in my kitchen, each burning 40W. The kitchen is fitted with a leading-edge dimmer switch. I'd read that LED lights need a trailing-edge dimmer. If you try to use LED bulbs on a leading-edge dimmer switch, you'll get flickering. You need to change to a trailing-edge dimmer when you change to LED bulbs. I'd read some LED bulbs do work with a leading-edge dimmer. If so, I wouldn't have to replace the dimmer switch. I bought these and... they worked! They're good quality and bright. If you've switched from halogen to LED GU10 bulbs and have flickering lights, try these. They're more expensive than other brands but worth it. Now the whole kitchen uses just 48W (if all 12 switched on) instead of previously where *one* bulb used 40W -- and 480W if all 12 switched on!

Top quality LED spots
I have been using Philips CorePro GU10s for a few years, gradually replacing cheaper builder-supplied ones throughout the house. They were recommended by my local specialist lighting shop – and I feel guilty not buying through them this time but I needed 10 and these are a little over £20 rather than £50. No doubt that the glass Philips CorePro is a very reliable product. Slightly puzzled at first though because others I’ve bought previously were 4.6W and 350 lumens; they were also rated A+. Another reviewer was spooked by the fact that these are now rated F, so I investigated. Apparently, the whole rating system was re-calibrated due to the abolition of incandescent and halogen bulbs. These LED bulbs are still energy efficient, massively so in comparison to what went before, but now find themselves at the lower end of the scale. All GU10 LED bulbs that I’ve looked at appear to be rated E or F.. These 4W bulbs kick out 345 lumens compared to the 350l of the previous 4.6W bulbs. I have checked Philips’ 2024 Catalogue (issued in Oct 2023) and they are current stock with a catalogue reference 929002495999. So I am satisfied that I have received the genuine article. Mine are fine and do not flicker. I gather from two friendly electricians that flickering will largely be due to the incompatibility of the dimmer modules. Something about dimming switches/drivers for the former GU10 halogen luminaires not being replaced. Also told that ‘constant current’ (CC) drivers are better for LED GU10 spots. Anything beyond that headline and my head starts swimming, but I’ll also pass on that any number of wiring issues might also cause flickering. In other words, any flickering is more than likely to do with the lighting installation itself rather than the bulb. The Philips glass ones seem so much better quality than cheaper plastic ones.

Good product, a bit Low intensity
Once mounted they are slightly bit bright enough for me, but I trust I should have read better the description? Dimming is fine, overall a bit shy but good product

Great lighting, great temperature, perfect for my house
Perfect lighting. I have those bulbs everywhere in the house except in the bathrooms (which have a cooler temperature). One room is lit 7 hours a day every day. All bulbs in this room started to fail after 4 years, pretty much within the same month. That's impressive!

Cheap LEDs are a false economy, Philips are worth the money
Installed 10, all worked fine out of the box. Much better quality than the cheap LED these have replaced. *To the guy complaining about energy efficiency- the A-F grades are relative to the product, an LED’s efficiency scale is a lot stricter than a halogen.

There good bulbs
Good for lightning a room

Very warm light
They are a little warm for my taste (3200k is optimal) and these are 2700k making them feel quite jarringly yellow at times. But they work well...

Flicker when dimmed
Bought to replace existing bulbs. Bought Philips thinking quality.. what a mistake more than twice the price of others for poor dimmable quality. Bulbs previously fitted worked great so not fitting or switch. Not even worth one star
