Working Fine So Far But None of the Included Hardware Fit My Bike
I'm not an intense mountain biker but the rear shock on my bike lost its pressure (it was about 15 years old) so had to replace as rebuilding looked to cost even more.I was careful to order the right size and the piston unit did fit. But none of the included hardware would attach this to my bike. I ended up knocking out the existing pieces on my old shock and that made it all work.Other than that the shock itself seems a fair value for the price.

The shock performs well and has held up well over several rides
I have a 2001 Gary Fisher Sugar 2+ that I have thoroughly enjoyed since I purchased it new. The AD12 original equipment rear shock finally reached the stage where I considered replacing it. I rebuilt the AD12 a couple of times and was looking at another round of the same. After a lot of online research for a suitable replacement I settled on the DNM shock with 216mm eye-eye mounts. The Sugar 2+ eye-eye spacing was 205mm as best as I could measure. I was not able to find a direct replacement. The impact of using the 216mm in a space for 205mm was the loss of 11mm of travel. This is not a big issue for me as I don't need the 50+ mm of travel with this shock. The shock has held pressure over several rides (6 or so) on varied terrain: climbs, turning descents, and catching about a foot of air on some sections of downhill each time out. I weigh approximately 220 pounds, so the shock has gotten a pretty good workout. The on-shock lockout is not a complete lockout, but close enough. I specifically avoided the remote lockout because I did not want another lever and cable to mess with. The lockout works works really well. I was always skeptical of how much energy was really lost on climbs wit the AD12 (no lockout). I'm convinced, the DNM with lockout is definitely better. It is almost like riding a hard tail on climbs. The downhills are really smooth with the lockout disengaged, a simple flip of a lever on the shock. The mounting required a bit of customization. The Sugar mounts are ~ M6. The DNM mounts with M8s. I drilled the mount holes on the bike to accept M8 screws that I picked up at the hardware store. I used screws with a shoulder that extended through both mount holes of the bike so the bushing on the shock had a smooth pivot surface. I used standard split lock washers. The DNM hardware required minor modification. The shortest mounting bushings that came with the shock were about 1/8 inch too long. I filed them down to fit; it only took a few minutes.I'm extremely happy with the purchase. I'm back on my bike and the rear suspension performs better than new.
