Favorite ink so far

I love this ink! I have four different colors and they all perform really well. I love how the ink blacken as it dries, but you can definitely still see the base colors really well. Well behaved ink with a fairly wet flow.

Really an easy ink. I use it in a Visconti stub. Perfect. About 5% color smear with wet sponge over it, leaving intact writing with light red haze.

I bought this bottle of ink after I used up all the cartridges that came with my fountain pen - a vf Pilot Penmanship. I was looking for an alternative color to black, but still wanted some water resistance. It was a pleasant surprise that this ink doesn’t feather at all on cheap scratch pads. The color starts as a light purple and darkens down to its namesake.I have read iron gall ink should be cleaned out of the pen more often, so I fill a cartridge with ink and rinse the pen when the cartridge needs to be refilled. There have been a couple instances where the pen seemed clogged, but lightly squeezing the cartridge was enough to get the ink flowing again.

I love the color of this ink. It reminds me of J. Herbin's poussiere de lune except a bit more reddish.It is fairly wet with a glass pen, though I have had no problems with show through and feathering on relatively cheap paper.It is pretty water resistant, and due to the iron gall part of the ink it is still pretty legible even after it has gotten wet (unlike the Herbin inks, which wash out incredibly easily).It is a bit expensive, but if you don't break the bottle like I did, it's no big problem since it will last a long time.I have yet to try it in my Waterman Hemisphere, but I expect no problems other than needing to clean my pen a bit more often.

Marvelous waterprooof ink! Nice and richly black.

I decided to try this in my Lamy 2000 with a F nib. I usually try to get extra-fine nibs as my Noodlers Inks flow to easily and make a mess. The Lamy was rapidly becoming my least favorite pen as a result. This Platinum Classic is the perfect compliment to the bigger nib! Its not to wet and has a lovely fade in when writing quickly. Highly recommended if you need a drier ink!(See photo next to Noodlers ink with a Lamy 2000 F)

If you like a bit of color in your black ink , this is just grand.I truly enjoy this fountain pen ink.
