Dyson V11 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

We talked about getting a Dyson for some time, thinking them overly expensive. But after reading so many glowing reviews, we broke down and went for it — mostly in order to save space in the cupboard, after having an old hose vacuum for so long taking up storage space. And wow. We are very, very glad we did it. It isn't particularly noisy. It is much lighter than I thought it would be. The attachments it comes with work wonderfully. The suction is strong enough. Not super-strong, but it works well enough to get the job done. The battery lasts more than long enough for our little home. Besides, I never really do a whole-house vacuum on the same day now, since the unit is so easy to pull out and put away again that I just use it whenever I feel like a room needs a touch-up. That is the main convenience of the thing. It's as simple to use as a broom. Simpler, in fact, since you don't need to sweep the results into a dustpan. And there is no need to plug it in or fiddle with hoses. Perfect. It vacuums well along side boards, and the brush-heads turn like a dream. My only niggle is that the brush-heads don't vacuum as well along their front edge. So if you run the head toward the wall, and up against it when there is a lot of dust, it leaves a line of dust close to the baseboard. But if you run it sideways along the wall, it works perfectly. Worth every penny. I'll never go back to a hose vac again.

This vacum is heavy in the hand and difficult to control the direction. The brush is too powerful on thick carpets and leave unsightly makes on the carpet. You have to keep your finger on the button the whole time so if, like me, you have arthritis it leaves you unable to do much more than five minutes at a time. I had several e-mail exchanges about this with Dyson and at the end they recommended I used and elastic band. Not what I expected for a vacum costing this amount. It comes with a handy wall bracket but you don't need to fix this if you prefer to charge it on a work surface. The myriad of attachments I will never use. The one for the stairs is not up to the job, but okay in the car. Beware if you purchase this from Amazon the 35 day return if not happy to Dyson doesn't apply. You can only send this back within 35 days if you buy direct from Dyson. An update: stopped working after a year returned to Amazon. Overall an expensive mistake for me.

First things first. We never received this from Amazon. Nightmare of a dreadful customer service experience only resolved by contacting their executive customer service team directly. Now for the Dyson. It's superb. What a piece of engineering. So easy to use and versatile. Cleans everything within an inch of it's life! Downside is charge doesn't last long enough to do the whole house (standard 3 bed semi detached) and it takes a while to charge up. So you need to plan your cleaning around keeping it charged up. Also very expensive particularly as I had to go directly to Dyson due to the Amazon mess up referred to above. All told though happy with the Dyson.

The Dyson V11 Absolute is 100% the great product you expect it to be, quiet and does the job well. Sadly this compliment cannot be extended to Amazon and the customer service "chat" team. I have never in my life had so much hassle trying to get something I've ordered (and paid for) delivered! Honestly it took 41 days, 2 re-orders, countless hours on "chat" to customer services suffering a whole load of infuriating bulk standard scripted excuses, empty promises and advisor changes mid conversation. When the only way you can get your goods delivered is to take to Twitter and let Amazon know how upset you are whilst giving a mention to #TradingStandards #Dyson then something is seriously wrong. Never had this much hassle with Amazon before and hope I never do again!

Not happy with the purchase, If you suction just the dust is getting blocked and very hard to unblock, not good at the angles , not reaching exactly closer to the furniture/walls Is not suctioning all the things I have in the kitchen floor and they are not big I wouldn't recommend as I was expecting more for so expensive vacuum I hade previously different and more chipper and was working better

The suction doesn’t feel as strong as I expected but does the job well. Easy to use although it could do with a ‘stay on’ button rather than having to press the on button all the time. Needs one more head for use on the stairs, the round brush is too soft and the other small head is the wrong shape for the stair carpet. Overall very pleased although it is really expensive.

Had it for 8 months and was not great from the beginning, now it has no power for suction. Not to mention the return is a complete nightmare and Customer Service same.
