Absolutely brilliant.
I am sober-curious,and whilst this book is about stopping completely it gave me food for thought and has helped me on my ‘journey of reduction.’ Clare writes brilliantly and I couldn’t put this down.

A sobering read…
A normal lady, living a normal life. A relatable, inspiring read. Upbeat but honest about the struggles of daily life.

Brilliant! Funny! Emotional!
I decided on NYE that that would be the last time I had alcohol. For the time being. It's now been 46 days and I'm still going strong. I was looking for recommendations of what to read whilst getting sober and this kept popping up. I can HIGHLY recommend! Clare Pooley is a brilliant writer. This is of course her journey, which I'm sure a lot of us can resonate with. She's a similar age to me, etc etc. I loved it and found it inspirational. It certainly makes you feel that you are NOT alone in your sober journey. What I didn't know is that she has since written 2 more (fiction) books which are just fabulous

Great Read for one and all
This is a wonderful book about the journey of an alcoholic/strike that -heavy drinker, social drinker over one year. It is serious and amusing in equal measures. If you drink or don’t drink alcohol this is an interesting read. Highly recommended.

I LOVED this book
I didn't want this to end. I was so gripped by Clare's account of a year in her life during which she gave up alcohol and dealt with her breast cancer diagnosis. She lives her life with grit and determination and is an inspiration to anyone, whether they are going through similar difficulties or not.

Good read
Really good read but felt it kind of dragged towards the end. But I appreciate her story and how she got through the bad times.
