I love this paint!
Our deck is only four years old. It's crap. The builder used substandard materials, and the expensive and time-consuming stain we put on it three years ago lasted less than a year. We have debated pulling off all the crappy-quality redwood and cedar and replacing it with composite materials. But we don't have the money for that this year, so I did some research to see if I could find paint that would turn it into something resembling a composite deck.Well, this paint did the trick! I can't speak to its durability because I'm still in the middle of my paint job. But I can talk about how easy it is to apply and what a great waterproof barrier it creates. This paint is thick. It's so thick that it doesn't drip off your brush or roller. And you would think that thick paint would be a PITA to apply. But it isn't. It goes on SO smoothly. I used a brush for most of the railings (I hate painting railings!!) and a brush for the primer coat on the deck, followed by a roller. I used a roller with a thicker nap, which gave the decking some texture. I really like the way it looks and feels. It isn't slippery in the least, and it doesn't burn my bare feet when I walk on the deck in full sun. I did three coats of Liquid Rubber on the rails themselves and six coats on the top of the railing, as well as six coats on the decking. I want to make sure this paint lasts as long as possible because I'm 65 with a bad back and bad hips, and I do NOT want to do this again!Another great thing about this paint is that it cleans up so easily. Given how thick it is, that really surprised me.When I first started looking at this product, the color I needed (which matches my siding perfectly) wasn't available in the five-gallon buckets. So I waited, and a few weeks later, it was and I snapped up two buckets. The color is perfect.I would be willing to bet that by the time I'm done, someone could look at this deck and never know that there's cheap, crappy wood under that beautiful paint. One last thing. I ordered two five-gallon buckets and only received one (the second one got damaged during shipping). I contacted Liquid Rubber, and they rush-shipped another bucket to me the same day. What a great company and great product.

Our deck has been renewed
Our deck is over 15 years old and had multiple cracks and holes We were considering replacing the deck but I decided to try this first. It’s been two years in direct sunlight and and the rubber is still holding strong. Our patio furniture is very heavy and dragging it around for two years has not caused a single chip. The slip proof rubber is great for the pool deck but in direct sunlight it gets extremely hot.It started pealing on the new boards we had to replace so make sure your lumber is aged. I applied this directly over old stain and bare areas with no prep or pre products other than the hose to give it a quick rinse. I need to purchase more to touch up the pealing but this is such a great investment on our home I will be going with the cooling one on the entire deck this time. This filled in every crack and seam so the boards look like one continuous board. It’s dries like hard plastic. Pic here shows with first coat and 2nd with imperfections gone.

Rain is causing it to bubble up!
Well I was hopeful! But this stuff is a waste of money, I went by the directions, scrubbing my porch, primer, two coats of paint, here it is four days later, it’s raining, and the paint is bubbling up!!! It’s to bad! This is even a covered porch! I can’t imagine how bad it would look if it was uncovered!!!No please don’t buy this!

WARNING
The natural beige color is not like the picture. The liquid rubber website provides a card no. for the color at your paint store. If you have any other colors such a cream, tan, or brown on your deck you may not like this color. It will look light grey. Would recomend the brown instead. The calculator is not lying when it says that it takes a lot of paint. It takes twice what my last latex deck paint took. I used 4 gals for a coat for a deck of 520 ft. Is very strong paint and I am very impressed. I would suggest that liquid rubber provides another color card no for mixing equal parts of white and brown to get tan. This color is very popular in Arizona where I live.

Great for stairs
I have tried four different products for painting wooden stairs. This one lasts longest and is non-slip and weather tough.

Better than expected
I had never used a product like this before, so I didn't know what to expect. I was very happy with the results! It was easy to use and it dried as fast or faster than the specifications suggest. The directions say to apply a heavy coat and I found that to be an understatement. Along the edges I used a brush and with the first coat, although I thought that I was putting on a thick coat, it had room for a much thicker one. With the second coat, I simply poured it directly out of the can to the area I was working on and spread it with either the brush, or the roller. Don't be afraid to put on a super thick coat! I would use this product again.

Expensive. Thought it would seal better and smoother but wouldn’t fix all your problems
Had high hopes with the product because of the reviews. But it wouldn’t solve all your problems. If you have heavy duty furniture on your deck it will dent into the paint if you leave it for a while
