Charter Spectrum Formerly Charter Cable Remote Control with Batteries Backward Compatible For HD DVR Digital Receivers (Pack Of Two) … Review: Remote is totally compatible with the Spectrum cable box and my TV! - The remotes performed perfectly, just like the ones from the cable company. Now, I have his and her remotes for the 2 of us. No more exchanging remotes to adjust the volume or change channels. Set up was simple and easy to accomplish. Review: New Remotes for Spectrum DVRs need to be paired before able to use. - No where did this product say it needed to be paired with the Spectrum DVR prior to use. This needs to be made clear. For my DVR, there is an option under Settings to "Pair Remote". This involved getting in the "Pair Remote" setting, and then pressing the OPTIONS button until the remote is paired. This process may be different for other DVRs. This is a "Universal Remote", and needs programming! So if it doesn't work out of the box, look up how to program it for your specific device. That said, works good, reasonable price.

Great product
The remotes work great! I appreciate how batteries were provided with it, I wasn't expecting that. They were delivered in a timely manner. Thank you for everything!

I enjoy watching Spectrum & enjoy my remote!
I was happy to be able to order the remote without having to go through Spectrum. The fact that they came in 2 units was icing on the cake!

Did not sync with cable box
The remotes did not come automatically programmed to sync with our Spectrum cable box. The instructions included only show how to sync you tv and audio devices. We can’t get the cable box to sync so now I will have to call Spectrum CS for assistance.

Great replacement but there's some Spectrum Problems here.
So the remotes I purchased are great and seem to be perfectly working OEM units. Why the lowish rating? Well, I bought these to have 2 remotes per box as this is what the wife and I have always done with our boxes. It seems the "New World Cable Box" from Spectrum will only pair with ONE REMOTE AT A TIME. This is utterly ridiculous. Pairing was very easy using the instructions from the box ( Menu-> Settings & Support->Support->Remote Control->Pair New Remote) but you can only use one at a time. Pairing 2 remotes will simply switch between them. This is confirmed with Spectrum CS and the agent I got was unaware of this until I asked and they had to research it. So the upshot is that these are a great replacement if you have broken or lost your remote and they are easily paired with the existing box; in that situation go forth with no fear! If, however, you want to do the "mine and theirs" thing like most other devices allow, you're just plain out of luck; save your money.

You can pair your new remote to your existing DVR (Cable Box).
Spectrum does tell you how to pair the remote to your TV and AV devices. However the original remote came already paired to the Spectrum DVR (Cable Box). To pair your new remote to an existing DVR is a bit different. Turn on the DVR and TV. Now while aiming the remote at the DVR, press and hold the MENU button and the number 1 button simultaneously. Hold both down. Wait for the INPUT button to blink twice. This will take several seconds. Give it plenty of time. If successful, the Spectrum menu will pop up on the TV screen. Then release the two buttons. If this does not work it is possible that your old remote was already paired with slot 1. Try again using MENU and the 2 button. Even number 3 is possible. I have three remotes working simultaneously with the DVR (Cable Box) including the original remote.
