TaidacentFPGA Development Board with Spartan6 XC6SLX Compatible with Arduino

This, as stated in the description, is based on the older-generation Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGAs, so it doesn't work with the newer Xilinx Vivado toolchain. Instead, it requires the Xilinx ISE toolchain (a version of which is free). The "Compatible with Arduino" part refers to the presence of an AVR chip on this board which greatly simplifies the uploading of designs to it. This is a 3.3V device, whereas most Arduinos are 5V, so I wouldn't connect them directly together. 3.3V devices that could be connected directly to the FPGA include the Raspberry Pi, ESP8266, and ESP32, but that only applies if you wanted to make the FPGA into some sort of peripheral device or co-processor.That said, it really does have a lot going in its favor. This is basically a Mojo v3 board and there is quite a lot of information available about that board on the internet, as well as tutorials. There is even a Mojo IDE, which is tailored toward this board but still requires Xilinx ISE to be installed. The Mojo IDE supports its own Hardware Definition Language called Lucent, but also supports Verilog.As an FPGA beginner, I think that this is an excellent board for FPGA beginners. It's solid, has decent features/capabilities, and works. I would recommend the IO Shield (sold separately by this same seller) which has lots of lights and switches which enable the programmer to actually see the FPGA in operation.

El producto cumple con mis expectativas. Lo que no megusto es que este producto esta descontinuado por el fabricante y la informacion y soporte es limitado o pobre. Y es dificil encontrar documentacion y software para esto.Eso me entristece. Comprar algo y descubrir que es algo vintage.

Item comes with: NO manual, NO power supply cable, NO cd or link to any website to get any technical specs. NO indication of required amps. NO pinout information. Just a PCB board.
