Amazing kit!!
We are currently building a house, and we wanted to get a better idea of its design, rather than just looking at it on the archtitects plan. I purchased this kit, and with no prior experience at all was able to construct the entire house, within about 2 weekends. The roof tiles, bricks, and siding were very helpful. The best part of the kit is that all these sheets have grids like a graph paper drawn to 1/4" per foot scale. This is exactly what the archtitects plan are drawn to. So I was able to actually cut up the archtiect plan and use it to build the walls of the house! After seeing how easy it was to do, I highly reccomend this to anyone building a house. You will learn so much about your design, and catch anything you don't like before you start the expensive construction.

So cool!
Loved it! It came with very sturdy paper and many designs. This is great for kids and i enjoyed it! I wish it came with tape or glue, but overall it was amazing! People say this is hard, but a 10 year old did it.

You Might Need A LOT of Patience!
UPDATE: Yes now I added the interior of my 32 foot diameter dome model. This was way more tedious than the exterior and you have to have the patience of Job to do it!I decided not leave the interior cut outs FLAT and backed each little piece with styrofoam!I would advise you to NOT use tape but instead glue! Of course in my case I may want to change things around.--------------------------------------------------I manufacture, design and build my XP Eco Dome Kits and thought it would be FUN AND EASY to possibly do a model of my dome with this kit. Of course I fully realized this was for square and rectangular projects and NOT circular ones!I watched the YouTube video with the young lady just cutting away and either glueing or taping the structure together. Looked easy enough even for this craftless 73 year youngster!WRONG!First the pieces of heavy paper board ain't easy to cut! So if you are buying this for a youngster under 6 then it will not be easy for him or her. I could be wrong!Second don't even attempt the cut out TREES unless you have the Popsicle sticks he recommends as they will definitely not stand up! Therefore the bushes you see.I will say he provided more than enough other helpful cut outs especially for windows, doors, appliances, coverings, furnishings, etc.My next part of this project is the interior!

Good- could be great
My 9 year-old saw this in a popular toy catalog and wanted one for Christmas. I read the reviews so I was prepared for what we got. We are working on it together and it is going to take a long time to do it right. It is a great teaching opportunity for the two of us. I am a teacher- not of math- so I will need a lot of help along the way with this. I think the lack of directions is a problem. I think it should have a booklet for novices to give more structure to the project. The pages that are included are disorganized. With a little bit of work it could be a really great product for both an older and younger audience. Without more instruction though I don't think it should be in toy catalogs. Is there a blog where other parents who have no idea what they are doing have posted suggestions? I could really use the advice of others- and if it exists- the suggestions would be nice to include in the kit as well. But even as we struggle along we are learning so I am glad I bought it.

Good modeling for the theDIY person
Great kit considering the low cost. My wife can’t imagine things off plans, so I built a 3D model. Its pretty easy to do as well.

It's not simple or clear
I got to ding this product, it's really a major waste of funds. It comes with zero sample or template house diagrams Rediculous, means you have to know architecture and design, you have to get your own templates. I wonder who is the target audience? Architects? Or any one?

This made a school project a lot easier.
We used this for my daughter's "dream house project" for a math class. Everything has graph paper printed on the back so it made measuring and cutting easy. The whole kit is really thick paper and comes with a lot of stuff like windows, doors, cabinets, flooring, siding and more. It also has pretty good instructions with it. I could see using this to plan an addition or building a new house. It would be good for anybody that enjoys building or making stuff.

A Pain to use!!
I ordered this kit for my daughter who is interested in architecture. It comes with several sheets of printed paper and you have to cut everything out yourself (windows, furniture, sinks, tubs, etc. etc)! This will take several hours to do (I've done it along with my daughter) and we are not done yet. The instructions are poor and you have to use glue to put it together. It is very open ended which is OK if that is what you are looking for, but hardly a toy for a beginner!!!
