Great replacement of our original cart
This purchase was to replace the original almost identical cart we have had for 25 years. We use this utility cart as a small island to move around our small kitchen. Great as a food prep island, and also to wheel it up to the stove when cooking. Our kitchen has a very small footprint and this fits into the kitchen as a min-island without being in the way (and when it is in the way, we just wheel it against the wall). NOTE: The actual measurements of the butcher block top is 15" x 21" - the extra 2 inches in the measurements to make it 23" is from the utility hooks on the side. These are the exact same dimensions as my original cart (which I bought at a local Target years ago). As for its sturdiness, it is pretty stable and I have used it to chop and slice things with no problems. One thing I have done is put a clear cutting board that is 15" x 20" on top to protect the wooden top while still being able to see it through the cutting board. The wheels are a little hard to lock, but I would guess that would loosen up with use but we don't lock the wheels so not really an issue for our use. Overall, a great little cart that is easy to assemble, fits our needs, and looks nice in the middle of our kitchen. Delivery was very fast as it was delivered a day earlier than expected.

..a handy little cart and is exactly what I was looking for.
This is a handy little cart and is exactly what I was looking for to clear off the top of my appliances and the first shelves of the cupboards above. I needed a foot stool to reach these shelves because of the reach over the appliances. Measurements were of the utmost importance for me. I took my chances as inside measurements of the shelves were not given. The depth (to fit between the appliances) is 8” as stated. •The inside depth of the shelf is 7” so it’s able to accommodate gallon jugs. •The inside height between the shelves is 12” but you have to tip the bottle to get it in and out. Not a big deal. The width is 26” as stated and was the widest that I found. I wanted at least that much to have more storage. The height is 31 as stated. I wanted my laundry detergent on the top shelf but I did not want it to extend over the tops of the appliances mostly for aesthetics; but also a shelf or panel could be placed over the appliances and cart to provide a nice folding area. Putting it together Easy peasy and done in 10-15 minutes. I put the first shelf on and screwed the screws in place loosely. I did the same with the second and third shelves. Then I went back and repeated 4 times till I thought the screws were securely in place. The wheels went on easily. I rolled it around and decided it seemed wobbly. So I did a few more rounds of tightening. Then I rolled it around with stuff on it. Still seemed wobbly so unloaded the cart and tightened some more. Ahhhh! Done! I think the important thing to remember here is NOT to tighten down the screws fully one at a time. Tighten all of them down together to get optimal stability. Looks It looks nice with the ends are not exposed. Also the shelves are solid so something won’t fall through the shelves. The heavier supplies are on the bottom shelf except the detergent. What I use most is the top shelf. My footstool has been retired to the garage.

A very nice addition to any Kitchen
This is a nice product, but it takes a little expertise in assembly. First off the wood cutting board is going to be conditioned with the proper mineral oil and sealer, it comes untreated and for continued use and longevity it will need treatment. Secondly do not through the box that it comes with out, the picture on the box can be a very useful tool in helping to assemble the cart. The instructions are okay and helpful but they are not explicit in putting together all the pieces in more-or-less the exact positions. This is crucial if you want to achieve getting everything level and the castors roll evenly. Do not let what I have said so far discourage you it can be done with a little time and effort. The poles on the corners and holding the racks are stationed with anchor stops, note the direction indicated on the stops, important. Note the right spot on the poles where these stops go, hence referring to the picture on the box, only because it is more illustrated. If you get this right working from the bottom up, carefully, you will achieve nirvana. Now here is a trick I learn, not mentioned in the instructions. The stops will not fully fit into the cylinders provided for each rack and will need to be better anchored, so as to there is no slippage later. What I did was to get an adjustable wrench or a fixed wrench the width of the stop, an placed in underneath on the tube and took a soft hammer (easy does it) and pounded down until most all the stop was inserted into the cylinder, watching and taking care that the rack stayed put and did not waver up or down, keeping the same spot where it was. Eventually everything came out great and I will be treating the cutting board with the proper mineral oil and sealing it. I pleased with the outcome of this product and looking forward to using it, a very nice addition to my very large kitchen, helps moving things around. My note to the manufactures, " Maybe keyholing the rack placements and push handle, so there is no adjustment or best guess placement.".

Wood board rests on a wire shelf, not just notches at corners. Has a juice groove. Just right size.
I chose this cart because the wooden top is real wood (not a laminate or veneer, as far as I am aware), and, it rests upon a wire shelf, not just upon notches on the corners of a board, which is what most other similar cutting board carts are made of. Another key detail of the chopping board is that is has a small “juice groove” to catch small amounts of liquid. Most of the chopping-board-topped wire carts do not have this detail which, IMO, makes a huge difference when slicing meats or chopping vegetables. And...the board lifts off easily for cleaning. The dimensions are just right—not too narrow, not too wide, not too tall. Overall, this is well designed with key details that most similarly priced chopping board carts simply do not have. Good quality, design and functionality at a reasonable price (approx 50.00 +/- a few dollars). The only hiccup I encountered was one of the casters had damaged threads that would not allow the caster to be installed properly (it stopped half way). I called Whitmor, and they sent a replacement promptly. It was seamless. This cart still gets 5 stars/5stars. I would recommend and I would buy again (and did!)

Happy with this microwave cart
My kitchen is sorely lacking in storage and counter space but luckily has just enough floor space for this small-sized cart. Assembly was quick and easy, but the resulting structure was so wobbly that I knew something was wrong. I called Whitmor customer service and learned that I'd installed the bottom shelf upside down: The surface with the edges should face down (which to me seems counterintuitive--and which the instructions do not specify). When upside down, with the edges facing up (like the pull-out shelf), the bottom shelf will not slide down over the plastic sleeves (which secures the structure) because the corner holes of the shelves (and hook assembly) are wider on the bottom than the top. After reassembly, the cart seemed sufficiently stable to support a microwave oven. Because all my outlets are over counters, this use isn't practical for me, but even after loading the pull-out shelf with numerous heavy canned goods, the cart seemed secure. Then I noticed that one side looked slightly higher than the other and realized that the wheels on the higher side had unscrewed somewhat during reassembly, so I retightened them and the cart leveled out. A note on the plastic sleeves: At first I was dubious that two flimsy pieces of plastic that don't even snap together (they just "snap" into the grooves on the poles) could possibly hold shelves securely in place. Now I get that the corner holes of the shelves hold the two plastic sleeve pieces together by sliding down over them. Overall, I'm pleased with this unit. It has a utilitarian look, the design is very practical, and it's a perfect size for my space. The pieces were all in good condition, the wood surface came nicely oiled, and the package included a few spare plastic sleeves and a tool to tighten the wheels. Customer service was easy to reach and quickly resolved my initial assembly issue (which is likely one of the most common). IMO, the assembly instructions, while definitely better than average, could be improved by describing 1) how to orient the bottom shelf and 2) how the sleeves and shelf corner holes work together to secure the structure.

Efficient
Very cheaply made, yet still effective for small spaces.

Very sturdy. Very functional
Very sturdy. Very functional. Looks good. So many reasonably priced items that require assembly end up being a mixed blessing. You're glad you didn't pay too much, they serve their function, but they're a little wobbly or are otherwise clearly a bit cheap. That is not the case here. This cart is very easy to put together but is crafted to be exceptionally stable. I was very surprised by how solid it was once I put it together. It was able to support my entire weight (170lbs) without any shakiness at all. I don't recommend sitting on it but I was curious and impressed by it's solidity. You can choose the spacing of the racks (only when you first make it though) so you can customize it to what you're going to put on it. I found this to be very useful for adapting it to my specific needs. The look is more functional than fancy but I like it. I should note that I don't use the pull out shelf. It seems a little stiff. Might loosen up if I used it more but since I don't I will exclude it from my overall praise of the product. If a pull out shelf is important to you I recommend reading some other reviews that address it.

almost perfect cart
It is small, but I just needed a little more counter space and a bit of storage. If this cart were 2" taller it would be perfect. As it is, it is a bit shorter than my kitchen counters. However, it's just the right size for loading up a couple of dinner plates. I like the cutting board, although I won't be using it to cut on. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the packing slipped and allowed a big chunk of tape to attach itself to the cutting board. Adhesive was a bear to get off. Eventually I did get it off, but removed some of the finish as well. (Apparently it had a light coating of some water-proofing.) I regard this as a minor cosmetic blemish as it does not affect the function at all, but it is irritating. Eventually I will probably remove all the finish, but that's a job for another day. I don't now why they tell you to apply mineral oil as this finish does not allow the oil to absorb and you end up wiping it all off. But I still love the cart. It was insanely easy to assemble and fits into my available space.
