Glutinous, medium-grain rice cooks up beautifully. Black grains turn to a silky dark purple color when cooked. Ideal for rice bowls, pilafs, stir-fry, soups and hot or cold salads. Use as a bed for seafood, poultry or meat. Add beautiful color to risotto or sushi rolls. Delicious for desserts such as rice puddings, rice molds and rice balls. Great on its own - season with a drizzle of soy sauce or sesame oil and add sesame seeds for garnish. TO PREPARE: (Stovetop) Bring 1 cup rice and 1 3/4 cups water to boil in a pot over high heat. Cover, turn heat to low, and simmer until tender, about 25 minutes. Separate grains with a fork before serving. Or follow instructions for your rice cooker or Instant Pot.
