Lydia Pinkham Herbal Supplement Tablets for Menstruation and Menopause Support, 150 Count

I used to think that women were exaggerating a bit when they spoke about hot flashes -- you know, being a bit hyperbolic in order to bond in that "kvetching" sort of way people sometimes do over shared tales of woe. Then I got peri-menopausal, and sistahs, let me tell you: the stories are 100% true. Going from feeling absolutely normal to, within seconds, feeling as if you've fallen into the fiery pits of Hell? True! Burning up on the inside while feeling cold on the outside because of the evaporation of perspiration? True! True! My family doctor prescribed Clonidine for me and it did nothing but cost me money. I tried this and that and some of those. Then I came across Lydia Pinkham's pills and finally got off the see-saw. For me, the results were pretty much instantaneous. I took them -- even fewer than prescribed, to be honest -- and was able to sleep an entire night without waking up once other than to get my cat off my face. And that's been the way it is since I began taking these magical little things. I still get a few hot flashes during the day, but they're not as intense or as long-lasting, and the nighttime relief is worth the cost it itself. They're an herbal supplement, a medicine, so it's undoubtedly true that not everyone will get the same results. For some folks, they might not work at all. Or maybe just a little. Others might be allergic. But for those for whom they will be nicely effective, and I guess you won't know until you try them, relief, a good night's sleep, and the feeling of normalcy are all in this bottle -- a bottle, which, by the way, has a picture of Lydia on them -- and she's all Victoriany, which makes me feel as if I'm joining some sisterhood that goes back 150 years when I take them. These pills have that sort of 19th c. romanticism about them, which is cool in itself. Yes someone should write an ode to these things. God bless you, Miss Pinkham, wherever you are. (I SO wonder how these pills might've helped me when I was still receiving monthly visits from Signor Rossi. He always brought along a big suitcase full o' cramps...)

I first discovered these tablets in high school (over 20 years ago). They were the only thing that helped with severe cramps. I had tried other OTC medications like Midol and Pamprin which gave little to no relief. My Dad saw these at the drug store and bought them in an attempt to help relieve my symptoms. It was amazing how well they worked. I also worked in our high school nurse's office and other girls would come in with severe cramps and want to go home. I would offer the tablets (just 2) and have them lay down for 15-20 mins. I told them that if it didn't work I would have the nurse call their parents to pick them up. Every single girl that tried them felt better within 15 mins and all wanted to return to class. I've never had to take more than 2 tablets in a day. I thought they stopped making these tablets. They are hard to find in stores. Most young workers have never heard of them. I thought about them again because I am surgically menopaused and have been having problems with hot flashes and night wakings, etc... I was thrilled to discover they are still available. I very much recommend this product. It has been around for a long time. In fact many works of literature refer to "Pinkham tablets". They are time tested and prove to be an excellent product.

I have to admit, I never heard of this until about four years ago. I was starting to experience pre-menopause. I ran into a girlfriend that had been having horrible sweats and severe mood swings because of surgical menopause.
