Amazing Knee Brace – Worth Every Penny - LCL tear & ACL Sprain Recovery Support!
I regularly wear the standard GenuTrain knee sleeve for sports and hiking, but after tearing my LCL and spraining my ACL (non-surgical recovery), I needed something more supportive for PT and everyday wear. This brace has been a game-changer. It keeps my leg straight and stable, is easy to slide on and off for physical therapy, and is comfortable enough to wear all day—even while sleeping. I initially tried a DonJoy ACL/LCL brace (per my PT’s suggestion), but it was a disaster. The adjustments were awkwardly placed behind the leg, the sizing was totally off (too loose around the knee, too tight on the leg), and the kneecap hole dug painfully into my ligaments. This brace avoids all those issues. There are no awkward gaps, it slides on easily, and the material is incredibly durable and supportive—classic Bauerfeind quality. The kneecap ring in this model is even more comfortable than in the base GenuTrain sleeve, and the side hinges provide great support without digging in. The straps are intuitive and well-placed, making adjustments simple. Best of all, the sizing is consistent. I’m a size 3 in the regular model and size 3 fit perfectly in this one too. It’s absolutely worth the investment. Don’t waste time with cheaper braces that might delay your recovery or cause more pain—this one’s built to help you heal and stay active.

Best Stability Knee Brace Ever
This is such a great product that actually works, that after spending a lot of time researching and trying braces on, I'm going to take a moment to help others looking for a true knee stability brace that works. First, my sincere thanks and gratitude to the folks at Bauerfiend who developed this brace. It provides such a high level of active knee support that I have long sought, that I am compelled to share with you that this brace has actually improved my quality of life. Not only has it helped me during exercise, but all day long. My knee aches while on my feet without the brace; with the brace, I can keep on my feet longer, and at the end of day after removing the brace, my knee feels great, like I sat all day. Again, thank you. To those looking at the brace, know that I'm a fit and active 45 yr-old guy with a knee injury from a motorcycle accident 14-yrs ago that fractured my tibia in 4 places, which came with an ACL replacement surgery and 4 more surgeries for torn meniscus; I now have osteoarthritis. I exercise regularly without any impact activities (weight lifting, cycle, row, elliptical cross-trainer). Being too young for a knee replacement, I must make do with what God gave me for as long as possible without further injury. However, my knee keeps slipping and tearing my meniscus further. Hence, the brace. I've tried neoprene braces, but I sweat so hard in them during workouts, that they are no fun. Note, once you add a hinge to a brace, the price will jump. Although this brace is up there at $200, the fabric and hinge construction allow for continuous daily wearing, which makes it worth the extra expense. For prospective buyers: 1) Make sure to follow the measurement guide for the best fit. 2) When first putting the brace on, the outer hinges will squeeze tightly and uncomfortably against your leg/knee. It took me about 2 days to get used to it. Now I wear it all the time, and I'm grateful for it. 3) Position the brace properly; find your sweet spot. I have found that when the top of my knee cap is just inside the top of the gel ring, it is properly positioned. In position, I can fully bend my knee and the brace doesn't shift. 4) Tighten it properly while standing with a slightly bent knee. The lower back strap should tighten just above the bulge of your calf. If both lower straps aren't cinched tight, it will slip. Then tighten the upper quad straps. Tight, but not constrictive. 5) The leg loops are helpful for slipping on/off, but also allow for you to grab thru your pants to pull it up just a bit if it slips during the day. 6) I wear the brace for exercise and daily use. With the brace on, I can fit into most pants, just not the tight millennial jeans that seem so popular these days. 7) I think the 4 Velcro straps can be replaced. (I'll provide an update when the time comes). 8) Questions I still have: a) How long will it last?; b) How well will it survive the washing machine?

Much better than I expected. Works well
Great product. It protected my knee with a torn ACI and allowed me to play basketball at full speed. It held my leg in place and allowed it to heal. The brace bypassed the knee injury and carried the load of my full body weight through activities and everyday life.

Useless and expensive brace.
Awful, made a wound in my thigh that took several weeks to heal. Still have scar from it. 200$ totally wasted.

Great brace but wish it was more durable
This is the most comfortable and supportive knee brace I have ever used. I just wish it were a little more durable. I train BJJ and I have broke two of these the same way - the plastic tab at the top caught and snapped the inner support in two. One of them broke after a year's use and was out of warranty. Its replacement broke after a month and was replaced by the company with minimal hassle. I now wear this one only on gi days when it can be covered by my pants and use a different brace with shorts.

Excellent product, well made
Excellent product, well made. AND, IT DOES REQUIRE SPECIFYING THE ORDER FOR RIGHT OR LEFT KNEE. I twisted my knee 5 weeks ago and it progressively got worse. First, pain just below the knee cap while climbing stairs. Two weeks later I had to shovel mud off a steep driveway and wheel barrow the muck (twisting my body and legs), all of which exacerbated the injury and pain on the inside and out side the knee with swelling. Now there was pain walking down hill and stair climbing was one step at a time without placing any stress on the injured leg, any length of time on the leg caused minor swelling. After three weeks of suffering I bought the Genu Train leg brace after doing a couple of hours on-line research and talked to my brother who had multiple knee injuries (off road motor cycle & basket ball) and surgeries. I received it promptly in 4 days, exactly what I ordered! I couldn't believe how well it supported my knee, not by feel or limited motion, I didn't really notice any motion limitations, but how little pain and no swelling there was at the end of the day...just after twelve hours! I have been using it for two weeks, at home and on the job (construction). I have to be cautious on uneven ground, limit load carrying, body twisting, balance and squatting/kneeling. I even was able to wear knee pads one whole day on the job while kneeling on concrete and drain rock. At home I can go up and down the stairs with normal steps with or with out the brace, and without pain. I'm impressed with design, manufacture, fit and comfort, it is well made and performs as promised. I see no problem in wearing the brace the next 2 to 4 months as my knee heals. Thank you from a happy pain free customer!

Expensive - but worth it!
I'm 60 years old, I spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and I maintained a regular running and active lifestyle... in other words, I have lots of mileage on my knees! I started playing pickleball (of course!) about 2 or 3 years ago and in the process my knees became increasingly sore - to the point that my right knee began to frequently "give out". Anyway, after trying multitudes of knee braces over the years (many of them were helpful - but my knee was still giving out and was getting to the point where I was at times having difficulty walking. I finally bit the bullet and bought this bad boy. I am happy to say that after a couple of months of using this every time I play pickleball - my knee is much better and has not "given out" sine I started using this. I did tweak my left knee a couple of weeks ago while playing, and it has been *very* sore since.... so today I just ordered one for my left knee.

Good Support, But Will Not Stay In Place
Good support for hypermobile knees, but braces will not stay in place and keep sliding down my legs even after tightening the straps as much as possible. They also get dirty relatively quickly and will need to be regularly cleaned, more so than other braces I’ve owned. They also can’t be worn with certain types of pants since you have to slide them on, not strap them. Good product, and I will continue to use them, but I may shop around more when it comes time to replace them.
