no bend for total pressure reading.
The end of this pitot tube is the total pressure point and should be pointed toward the air flow. I had to add an elbow to the end of this tube to make it work correctly. Also it is rather short, so not usable for large ducts. I guess one could use it outside of a duct in a very windy environment or on a vehicle of some sort to measure air speed. I should have bought the 'L' style instead. I am using this in 4 -5 inch ducts for dust collection system analysis so with the elbow it is acceptable.I wouldn't recommend it for HVAC use; get the 'L' style instead.
