I love this. I make quiches and cheesecakes in a springform pan all the time, and I typically cut them into 16 slices because they are so calorie dense. Try as I might, starting with a half, then, 4ths, then 8ths, then 16th, never can get it quite even. This solves the problem and does it quickly. I start with 8ths, and then turn it slightly to find the middle of the slices and voila, I have 16 pieces. It's important to note that it has two sharp sides. One for a pie that sits in a typical pie plate and allows for an angle and crust, and a flip side that cuts straight all the way down. Make sure if you use a spring form pan, that you use the correct side, or it won't cut all the way through.

Small bend that makes it not cut cleanly for one slice

so this is my second set... I belong to several organizations with fund raisers and I cook and bring my pies and pie cutters. BOTH 6 and 8 cutters were taken last year; so, this spring I ordered NEW pie/cake cutters AND put my name in permanent marker on them...

Want to make sure your pie is evenly distributed between guests? This works perfectly to mark to cake or pie. Note that this isn't meant to be used to cut all the way through, but for some pies it will cut through. Just be careful when cleaning as the edges are pretty sharp.

I purchased this as a gift for the kitchen group where I volunteer, so needed a commercial grade product.it's been fun for everyone to use for perfect 8 pieces of pie to offer to customers! No more trying to cut equal pieces! it's especially good for creme pies, but can be used for cut lines on hard pastry top pies also.Excellent quality, accepted by Chef and easy to clean. highly recommend this pie cutter.
