Does this connect like the original Microsoft thin fabric keyboard? Also is this keyboard thicker? And finally is the top part plastic? Thanks

Yes to all of your questions. This is very slightly thicker, connects just like the "original," and the top is plastic (keys and trackpad) and rubber (probably rubber coated plastic) everywhere else. The back of the keyboard has a grey fabric that provides some friction to keep the keyboard/Surface from sliding around on a smooth surface.

does this fit the Surface Pro 2?

This is smaller than the Surface Pro 2. The Type Cover for the Surface Pro 2 is 10.9 inches wide. The magnetic clips might still work, and you might still be able to type on it, I don't know about that part.

Is this compatible with the surface rt? i really don't like the way the surface touck feels and just wanted to change it up.

Yes, I have an RT, not a Pro. I would highly recommend it! I didn't like the touch at all.

Will my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard - which says it will work with Windows 8, Windows RT and Android 3.0 - work with the Surface?

The Surface does have integrated Bluetooth, and should work fine. You don't mention the model Logitech keyboard you are using, but if it says it supports Windows RT then it will work 100%. I had a quick look on Logitech's site and they do mention Windows 8 and RT, so you shouldn't have any hassles :-)
