Good, but a bit different that I expected
The action and the story were alright, but I have to point out one drawback and that's that both Batman and Spawn just came across as kind of whiny here. Like if you took one of the CW shows based on DC comics, and inserted that level of angst and meaningless drama into a more violent setting with two (more) iconic heroes, this book is what you'd get. It's still a good story - and it could definitely have potential if they turned it into an ongoing series (unless they already have and I am just not paying attention) but they really need to stop making both heroes seem like prima donnas and instead focus more on the badassedness of both of them!

Great Seller! Not the best story.
Book was in pretty decent condition for being used and it arrived much quicker than the estimated delivery time. for that, the seller gets 5 stars as this was exactly as described and the service was better than expected.Commenting on the story: it's not the best. Miller made a name for himself reinventing the Batman character as a tortured soul who couldn't overcome the violent murder of his parents which is the image of Batman from which all modern iterations of Batman are inspired. The problem was that over time, Miller went way too far in this direction almost to the point of Batman being cartoonishly brooding to a point that it lacks common sense. When you consider that Batman has been on a team full of Do-gooders as a surrogate general figure, the idea that him meeting a persona that possesses magic like Spawn and being only motivated to attack, offend, and pick fights merely because this being possesses magical powers is really REALLY weird. McFarlanes art is great as usual, but Miller's idea of what makes a character interesting is more and more juvenile here. This is a side note but read any of the Batman books written by Leob for comparison to get a more complete image of Batman as being a split between his tortured persona and the persona of Bruce Wayne.

old and grumpy new and snoby
wow, this brings back memories.the first time i saw the cover of this book was way back in '94, in batman nightquest days, azrael days.and after nine years ,i managed to get hold of a copy, thanks to amazon.about the book:good art, good coloring, but bad story.the book says it's a companion piece to dc's the dark knight returns. a frank miller story.batman in it has the same feelings as in the dark knight returns, old and grumpy, minus the great story of course.and it's about illegal military weapon experiments with robots, which batman accidentally discovers, and takes him to new york, were he collides with spawn for vigilante methods differences, until the obviuos end. spawn looks great and angry as usual .mcfarlane's art is good.and there is a nice surprise on the last page.but the boring story...for collectors only.p.s can somebody asks dc to print more azrael graphic novels?there is only knight's end knightfall, and the sword

Punk: Batman
I love both Spawn and Batman, and seeing my two favorite comic book characters fight each other and work together hit me right in the nostalgia. The pacing for the story felt right, and the artwork is worth the price of admission alone. One thing I would like to point out, however: Spawn was portrayed as the weaker character of the two, which may be solely because Batman is constantly belittling him at every turn. Not to spoil the plot, but even when Spawn is helping him out he just keeps on calling him undisciplined and a punk. In fact, he calls him a punk on pretty much every other page. I know that Frank Miller Batman is dark and more "intense" than his mainstream counterpart, but I feel the character could have been portrayed better, or at least knew more words.Poor dialogue aside, this is a pretty good one-shot and a great piece to your Spawn or Batman collection.

Much like the Batman/ Spawn comic this book in general is ok however as a fan I love it the art work is much better and has a few pages that as a Batman /Spawn fan put a smile in my face and is a great piece to have on your Batman or Spawn collection.

Poor condition
This comic book was supposed to be in good condition. Unfortunately the spine is cracked on the front and back. The whole front cover is in bad condition but the corners are the worst.

Spawn...and Batman?
I was looking for Spawn comics when I came across this one. I was like, "Spawn and Batman? This is going to be killer" The story could be more solid, but it was super cool to see these two titans battle it out and then work together.

"Eye candy" ohne Inhalt
"Eye candy", also oberflächliche aber sehr schmackhafte Unterhaltung. Macht Spass!
