The FJH Young Beginner Guitar Method, Lesson Book 1

This is an excellent program for teaching young children how to read notes while playing the guitar. Whoever packaged it folded it half! I was dismayed, but able to straighten it out. I'm surprised that the shipper would do such a thing!

I like this book. I used it for my beginner guitar lessons. It was recommended by the music instructor.

Almost Every other page is blank!

I took a Guitar 🎸 Class at the University of Cincinnati & we used the 1st Book. Even thou I am a Lefty/Southpaw and re-strung my Guitar, I found the book to be very user friendly & l love the book. After the Book/Course was completed, I then continued practicing/learning on my own. What I noticed in the 1st Book is that there is no Lesson Plan for the “Space Note F” which is the Low F Note but there is a Lesson Plan for the Line Note F. I am very confused as to why there is a Lesson for Every Note but this one🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m a children’s guitar teacher, and I use these books exclusively to teach my students. I use 4 books in this series: Lesson, Performance, Theory Activity, and Exploring Chords. The first 3 books correspond seamlessly, and the Chords book is an extra that’s a great addition to the first 3. My students are making steady progress from week to week. The books are easy to explain, fun, and teach a strong musical foundation. I would highly recommend this series for any teachers out there!

My 5year old son began taking lessons at school. The Young Beginner Guitar Method is what they started him with. It is very easy to follow and explains everything step by step. Never having picked up a guitar myself, I was quickly able to play along.
