A must for KLR 650 modded for Adventure.
Upgrading my KLR 650 for adventure back-country rides. This mod. has been used with so many other owners of these motorcycle's that I had to check to see if it has been done on my 1999. I have owned this bike for 9 months with no troubles, but sense everybody says that these stock bolts are a ticking time bomb, I ordered these. You do need some mechanical skills to drill the holes needed for the mod., but the instructions are well written., and that helps. I recommend this product 100%. And it came one day earlier. Fast shipping.

This is a must... as in not optional. The stock subframe bolts on all model years are inadequate and eventually will fail. You can get the non-drill kit and be fine but if you are like me and load up your KLR you'll want to spend an extra 30 min and 20 bucks to make it bullet proof. You can do this upgrade cheaper buy using your own bits and getting a bolt from another supplier but it's all there in the kit ready to go. I'd rather get the kit than waste gas and time getting the stuff somewhere else. Minus one star because it's on the pricy side for what it is.

Great fix and fast shipping.
Relatively easy to install, though make sure you are drilling straight through. The 11/32 bit worked great and I didn’t use the smaller bit for a pilot hole. Everything else was smooth. The through bolt wasn’t long enough for my crash bars but that was my fault.

Excellent!! It may be wise to have a helper to lift the rear subframe when trying to install the bolts. I was able to do it by myself, but another set of hands would've been welcomed.

Another quality product from Eagle Mike!
There are tons of instructional videos and info on this kit out there on the net. Take your time drilling the frame and it will work great. All of Eagle Mike's stuff is great from Eagle Mfg. I didn't have any problems with this install.

This kit is 100 percent complete. All you need is a drill and wrench.

Drilling wasn't an issue and I wasn't concerned about messing up my nice drill bits
Solved the subframe bolt problem for my 1989 KLR 650. Drilling wasn't an issue and I wasn't concerned about messing up my nice drill bits.
