DeLorme® Virginia Atlas & Gazetteer (Virginia Atlas & Gazeteer)

We got lost in the Blue Ridge Mountains with no GPS. The atlas helped us locate our position and road out. It was a secure feeling. I prefer my adventures on a hike, not a road necessarily.

This atlas is just like every other Delorme Gazateer for every other state. It's full of details and lots of natural attractions / activities / scenery featured. I purchased this for a fishing trip I had planned to southwest Virginia and I knew I wouldn't have any cell signal.

Served the purpose as intended

This latest edition of the DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteer of Virginia offers good coverage of the road network across a large state. Virginia is a state where new construction, especially in Northern Virginia and in the Tidewater area, is constantly changing the roads. The 3D-like visual presentation gives an appreciation of terrain, especially in the mountainous western third of Virginia. The impressive gazetteer function covers town names, recreation areas, hiking, campgrounds, bicycle routes, canoe trips, fishing areas, historical sites, public gardens, art museums, science centers, wildlife areas, waterfalls, scenic drives and wineries, among other topics which might interest visitors.Some cautions are in order. The 1:150,000 scale for the map sheets can be hard to read at times. There is limited detail for major urban areas such as Northern Virginia. Use with caution, but well recommended.

Has basically every road. I have several Delorme's and they are all great. Better than a GPS in the mountains because you don't lose service and that's where I do a lot of my driving. Reliable and good quality.
