Not all true statements in the description
The chin strap has blue buckles for some reason and the picture shows silver metal. The inside leather IS NOT REAL, it's imitation leather and even smells like plastic. So a 3 star rating is what this item gets for lying in the description.

Best world war helmet reproduction- but no real leather
I'm no weaponsmith, but it's clear this is no perfect copy of the original. My main issue is with the faux leather chin straps, as the liner is perfectly fine to me. The chinstrap is a bit abrasive, and just feels fragile in general. That being said, the quality of the helmet and liner are superb, much better than I would expect for $50. The steel is robust and takes a ball-peen hammer to dent. It feels solid on the head. Side note, 3.5 pounds on the head is no joke, do not wear this for an extended time or in intense physical activity, it will strain your neck. Unless you're running a guerrilla campaign or something, of course. It's the sad reality that the only affordable World War helmets/gear is Soviet surplus or Nazi reproductions. I know at least some of these helmets will be used to memorialize a ruthless, aggressive empire, but hey, that's freedom. I'll eventually destroy my helmet, but it'll be hard to do!

Chin strap "pivots" not in correct place.
The helmet shape is mostly correct, it has a very good profile, and is of heavy steel. The rolled rim is not uniform. The chin strap is riveted 1.25 inches too far back, and is flush with the liner band. The liner band is one piece of aluminum riveted in the back with an internal one piece inner band connected to it with a spring steel band as originals were. A very strong way to make a reproduction. The chin strap buckle is painted with a blue/grey rust coating of some kind. The grey/ green coloring is very good. All in all, worth the money, to me.

Great Helmet
The weight of this helmet really impressed me. Unlike other "replicas" this one looks and has the weight of a real helmet. I got this for my nephew who is a WWII enthusiast and he loves it.

Impressive replica
I am very impressed with this replica. Very true to the original design. Sylphid has done a great job replicating this classic WW2 helmet. My only concern,be it small, is that it looks too new! I guess I'll have to roll around in the dirt for a while. Thanks!!!

good but not 100 percent happy
this is supposed to be original helmet design but the straps are incorrect spots and it puts pressure on my ears and the head liner puts pressure on the back of my head almost like the worker who put it together was Chinese.. i looked inside and it said pass green sticker and a chinese letters in it so i was right half fast job

Nice helmet.
From looking and wearing a little it seems well made. I have been making medieval weapons and toys for a while and wanted to look at the German protection. A bit of a historical buff you could say. Over the last year been playing around making armor, and might add this modified with more ancient ideas into my stuff that I enjoy making. Thanks for making such a nice work. Bob
