Unconventional but Effective Nerf Blaster
For all you Nerf aficionados that would like something different try this amazing Vortex Praxis Blaster. I have both the standard dart blasters and two of the Vortex blasters. While the Vortex Blasters are a bit unconventional looking, they are more than fun and interesting when in operation. This particular blaster will fire a Nerf disc with more than fair accuracy over 50 feet with good velocity. Plus, the discs have a real tendency to ricochet off of walls, furniture and anything else in the line of fire. Which means you can score a hit on the "bad" guys by bouncing the disc off of nearby objects. Because of this ricochet factor, when trying to retrieve the discs to reload an empty magazine, there is no guarantee the discs are going to be where you think they will be. Good hunting! This blaster is large and will easily fit an adult or older child (like a grandpa) and is totally fun to operate. The ten round disc magazine is easier to load when compared to the standard Nerf Dart clips, and I recommend the purchase of extras. It has a sliding under barrel action that primes and loads each disc and sounds pretty cool - almost like a sliding action shotgun. Once this blaster is cocked, the sneak up factor is still an option. The action is totally manual and there is no electronic spool up noise as with the battery operated Elite series. Two thumbs up with this one!! It is my personal carry weapon in the family Nerf wars. Have fun and stay young.

Great Fun
Great fun with the kids. Finally a happy medium between destructive and useless. Way better than darts yet leaves no marks or crying kids. The perfect family toy gun. Not sure on durability. Seems pretty fragile. Works great. Very easy to get started. Only advice? Use in the front yard. Playing in a fenced back yard will supply all your neighbors with little green discs. Easy 40 ft range with this. Enjoy..

A Cannon That Fires Frisbees
This blaster must be extremely popular because when I bought it a month ago, it was still $25 dollars and offered super saver shipping from Amazon, but it obviously does not any more.Right out of the box, it's a very impressive blaster. The ranges are quite impressive, better than even my heavily modded maverick, and it hits hard. However, there is a downside because unless you have something to fully absorb the disc's force, then it will bounce everywhere. A majority of the time I am looking for the discs and I think it was a good design decision to have made the discs green because it makes it slightly easier to find. This gun isn't the easiest to mod, though it might just be for me, because the screws have very tight "holes" that allow only a very selective screwdriver to fit. Though it doesn't require that much mod anyways, so that's not that big of a problem. I don't like the stock very much because even though it helps give it a genuine rifle feel, it's pretty flexible and that slight flexibility in the stock can really throw off your shot. The accuracy is very good if you have good aim and you don't need to rely on the sight. There is quite a bit of distance between the barrel and where the sight is, so very often, the shot will go below where the shot is aimed at.Tip: Aim with your heart, understand where the disc will land instead of relying on the sight. I don't use this as a sniper rifle, but if you only need to hit a target far away regardless of where, then this is the blaster for you.

Ok, not the best Nerf gun. Good value for disk shooters.
I bought this to return the disks shot at me by my fellow office mates using Nerf Vortex Proton Blasters (a single shot nerf gun). I like that it's easy to reload the clip, that you can buy extra clips (although I wanted to buy the big 40 disk clip which comes with a nerf Pyrogon... they don't sell the clip alone).Pros:Stores in my file drawer easily with the shoulder mount unclipped.Fast clip replacement.Easy reload of clipsYou can buy spare 10 shot clipsWith this reasonable amount of ammo you can keep them hopping while they search for more ammo off the floor.Medium:Range is ok, maybe 40ft max.Cons:Accuracy is poor as a flying disk has a tendency to veer off like a frisbee does.2 in 10 shots leave the barrel with a flying wobble that makes it drop within 10 feet. Unknown reason why.No slam fire, only single fire mode, ie. pump, shoot, release trigger, pump.I rate most Nerf toys against using a 1/2" x 3ft PVC pipe and some Nerf suction darts which have a range of 60ft and I can knock a soda can off the cubical wall at 40ft within 3 shots. (slight variation as they fly, grouping is 6" at 40ft.)In general it's fun, and probably the right price/fun ratio of the disk shooting Nerf toys.

Awesome nerf blaster!
This disc blaster is not only very cool looking, but it works and feels great Even though this blaster doesn't have slamfire, the pump action is still effective in delivering a rapid rate of fire. The stock is a little wobbly, but it only becomes a problem if you apply an unnecessary amount of pressure to your shoulder. If you don't like it, than simply remove it or replace it with something else! Admittedly the discs do not fly as quickly or as accurately at longer ranges (when compared to nerf dart guns) but since I do my battles indoors at close quarters, this doesn't really matter to me. Anyways, I think the discs are really fun to use, especially since you can learn how to curve them and also bounce them off of walls. As is a good rule of thumb with any nerf gun, be sure to purchase some extra magazines and ammo. I personally got my hands on a couple of 20 round nitron magazines that work perfect!

There are better nerf guns out there!!!
After about one week of use the discs start to curve as soon as they leave the gun. No possible way for them to fly straight and hit a target. Good thing my kids just run through the house shooting at each other and do not really mind. Otherwise I would have returned it for a nerf gun that shoots the regular darts. NO DISCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
