What an amazing find!
Here in south Florida, it’s fly season almost all year long, and at a horse farm it’s almost unbearable. I’ve tried sprays, fly masks, fly traps, wipes, dietary supplements - all with little to no effect. I saw this and figured “how bad can it be?” And ordered one. I was suprised at how thick it was but very impressed with the quality. It does of course have a very heavy odor, much like the sprays, and my first thought was “my horse will never let me put this on” because he is petrified of the sprays, and I always thought it was because of the smell. I did have someone help me get it on him the first time but once on, he was fine. I stayed at the farm for a few hours and noticed after a bit that even though the horses next to him in the barn were being bothered by flies, there were only one or two near him and they weren’t landing on him, they were apparently being repelled as this promised. I was astounded to say the least! I showed this to the barn manager and he was amazed. He saw this thing in action and said he had never heard of this before. Depending on the tack you use when you ride you may need to remove this. So last week when I rode I let a friend there put the collar on her horse for about an hour while I was gone. She couldn’t wait for me to return to tell me this was the best hour her horse has had in a year - no flies really bothered him. She ordered one immediately.

Cheap manufacture
Put it on, great, 2 days later no flies on the face (which also had a fly mask) so I was very pleased. A week later, the plastic ripped apart where the bug repellent part joins to regular plastic before the snaps. This was very disappointing! A great product, made in China to keep costs down, also led to poor quality. There should be some reinforcement at the seams, a minor issue could be fixed and ensure more regular customers!

Worked Well.
I think the product is a great idea. I did not notice an overwhelming smell, and the function seemed to be good. Good a good price point. However my colt was fixated on the collar I had on my mare so it only lasted a couple hours. But seemed to help keep the mosquitos away while it lasted. So in general not super durable.

Breaks fairly easily if horse rubs anything that catches it.
Although this fly collar does work, it won't if your horse rubs against a bush and it tears, falling off. There is decidedly a weak spot in the construction as I have alredy sewn back another one (same tear spot worn by another horse) and yet another is missing somewhere on our property... I would suggest the manufacturer look closely at this one spot on the collar and figure out a way to make this area stronger.

Horse lovers
True to its word. I live out in the country where mosquitoes & horse flies are abundant. Once this was in place all the horses that stayed together no longer had a problem. It had no smell just a little sticky. Lasts over a month & very effective repellent.

Won’t stay on
They won’t stay on , great idea and concept, but our horses didn’t keep them on for 24 hours. Spent a lot of money to see it laying in the pasture. I wouldn’t waste that again

Works well, but not for my horse
I bought this for my horse and she wore it for 2 days - it worked great. Then she lost it out in my 5 acres of trees. And of course, I am glad it came off instead of her getting hung up on a branch or something - but they cost too much to keep replacing, so I'm just relying on spray to keep her comfortable.

Anti fly collar is working
We liked the fly collar very much and we saw an imediate change in the horses behaviour. He stopped throwing his head during riding and that facilitated a much calmer ride and the possibility to concentrate on the riding pattern and not on the flies on his head. Very big improvement , definetely. Unfortunately , the horse rubbed the collar off in the stable after 2 weeks but that has nothing to do with the FLY HORSE COLLAR itself. I find it maybe a bit tight for a Dutch Warmblood but after rubbing it off we could still fix it and now it is on the neck of a smaller horse.
