Taidacent Automatic Water Level Controller - Two Non Contact Water Level Sensors, 1 Meter Cable, Fills or Empties Tanks

I am using this controller on the treated water tank on a whole house reverse osmosis system. It works great. The usual float switch control is a real pain. You have a limited range under the best conditions, and it is not very accurate or repeatable. You have to reach into the tank to get it to move in a clear path.The Taidacent capacitive sensor is extremely accurate and is easy to install. Although this controller can be applied directly to the wall of the tank, doing so makes it inconvenient to move the sensor locations in the future. It is much more convenient to adjust the high and low settings if it is applied to a sight gauge. Then you can just slide the capacitive sensors up and down the site gauge. The sensors attach to the gauge with an ordinary wire tie.A sight gauge made from ½” ID vinyl tubing can be easily built for any water tank. The attached photo shows the sight gauge I made for my 600 gallon water storage tank. The tank is on the other side of the wall. Now I can easily adjust the water level without entering or reaching the top of the tank.There is another issue that was also addressed in another review. The common terminal on the output relay is connected to the line leg of the power supply. This might be convenient for some applications but hardly all. I have attached a photo of the PCB land that should be cut so that you will then have an isolated output relay contact. This is very easy to do. If the design came this way it would still be easy to connect this power line to the relay with a simple jumper on the terminals.This is a great option to control the level in a water storage tank. It has great advantages over a float switch.

The media could not be loaded. I have a pump that drains water out of a ditch to water the garden. The problem I was having was when the water level fell too low and the pump ran dry, damaging the impeller (I replaced it several times). This controller is great! It senses the high water level in the ditch, and turns the pump on. When the water level gets low, it turns the pump off. In order to use "drainage" mode, you simply use the N and NC terminals on the load side (for "fill" mode, you use N and NO). It was a little challenging to have the sensors INSIDE the ditch, but I managed that by putting them inside a glass container and lowered it into the water. I fixed the sensors with double-sided tape, so I could move them around (which I had to do a few times to get the water levels working right). Notice in the picture that the two sensors are only about 1/2 inch apart -- this worked fine. Useful tip: the sensors respond just as well to fingers as they do to water -- this helps a lot when finding the right placement for them. Initially I couldn't figure out how to get to adjustment sensors. Will update review when installation is complete.

Very poor quality product, difficulty to get the sensitivity set right but after I did it completely failed in about two months. Customer support does not respond at all.

Okay, so the wiring is a little wack, and the alarm circuit is not very useful. The instructions are minimal and gloss over the functionality of the box quite a bit. And, you have to contact the seller to find out that each little round sensor is adjustable in sensitivity using a little potentiometer behind the plastic cover.You also have to know to mount it with Elmer's glue.However, with all those caveats, it is a 5 star device because it simply works, and so far has been very reliable.We used it to replace (supplant) a chattering float switch in a large water tank system with thick PVC multi layer walls (approx 1cm thick) and after adjustment they worked like a charm. Really lovely to have nothing in contact with the liquid.Sensors have LEDs that light up when sensing water. Careful use of them can allow you to find a water level with a good level of precision on any non metal container. Kind of like a primitive stud finder for liquid.I'm guessing these will explode in popularity with a little better marketing and instructions.

I created a Keurig auto fill system combined with my laser cut designs and included a water shut off solenoid typically found in dishwashers for the heavy lifting. Lots of plumbing and tubing to pull it off using PEX tube (do NOT use anything but certified PEX or copper for any plumbing products) and proper settings for the fill sensors.Worked quite literally out of the box and im glad that I finally completed this project after about 2 years of "planning" lol..(this product is what finally put all of the pieces together properly)

the instructions on paper is not clear, I guess most people will probably find it impossible to connect correctly or safely. signal names are confusing, some in Chinese (which I understand).I am an electrical engineer , it took me quite a while to understand it.

A little hesitant since there were just a few reviews but I purchased this kit anyway to use on my Biocube 32 to keep the water level in my preferred zone. It works very well and in fact worked exactly as I wanted it to right out of the box with no adjustments at all! I mounted it to the back glass of the return pump section with double sided sticky back tape and it works super. I am running a 120 vac solenoid valve to turn on the water input to my RODI system which is then connected to a float switch for added safety. System works great and I will probably get a couple more for my other large tanks. Highly recommend.
