Great product. Holds my Surface Book well in standard laptop mode or in presentation mode. There are some minor (very, very minor) cons but the pros heavily outweigh them. I recommend this to anyone who is looking to create a laptop workstation.PROS-The fan moves a lot of air.-There are four USB 2.0 ports.-The stand is sturdy metal mesh.-There are six angles that lock in well.CONS-If you use a power supply and have a backlit keyboard attached, the keyboard will remain lit when you turn off the computer. The stand doesn't know when you turn the computer off or not. I just turn off the keyboard backlight once the computer shuts down.-You cannot turn off the blue LED without turning off the fan. If you don't mind the light at all times, it's no big deal.-The fan is not silent. Again, no big deal but the noise is there.

I think the Coldplayer laptop cooler is one of the better ones I have used. The construction and design are superior to most of the others I've used, especially for the price. You really get your money's worth with this one. It is built very well, feels extremely sturdy, a nice thick material. I like that it has a on/off button and the cord organizer is great. For me this cooler was really a nice buy. The only con I found with this cooler is the size, it is a little small for my 15" 2011 MBP. Despite that it still feels secure on the surface due to the 2 flip up lips which have a nice thickness and the hinging seems very smooth and sturdy. The large fan quietly keeps it cool, it runs smooth and still gets the job done. I would definitely buy this cooler again!

I bought this because my laptop was overheating when playing games or videos. I'm impressed with the build quality, and it keeps my laptop frosty.I was pleasantly surprised that the struts are real metal, the whole assembly is very solidly built. Well worth the price to keep my rig running cool.EDIT: After two months the electronics stopped working. I had to downgrade my previous 5 star rating. It still works as passive cooling, but I have to use a desk fan to keep my laptop cool enough.

The Fan is really noisy, included USB cable was cracked inside out of the box so it connected and disconnected every 7seconds. Lids that hold the laptop in place are too short I don't see them as secure. To move the fan around the base there is no security lock is only by pressure which I didn't like.Good things... well... the hub works even with the fan off and it's 6 height positions are good. Mesh above the fan looks like real metal so helps with dissipation

If you could trap a gnat behind the perforated plastic grille, its wings would generate more airflow than the fan on this product.The fan is very quiet because it is not doing any work whatsoever. The sliding fan gimmick does work, but, again, sliding a fan that cannot move any air from one position to another accomplishes nothing.I only give it two stars because the tilt function works well and so do the flip-up tabs that hold your laptop in place. It is amazing how many cooling pads (probably, as a category, the worst-designed products that exist in the world, and I have tried DOZENS of models) put no thought whatsoever into preventing your laptop from sliding off at the slightest tilt. The designers of the coldplayer at least made an effort.This product would be easily four stars if it came with a fan that could, you know, move air.I salvaged the usability by figuring out that an inverted O2 Cool 5" battery fan fits snugly underneath on the 4th tilt setting. The grilles and inert fan of the coldplayer block too much of the airflow, but it is still 25 times more than the product itself could generate.

I got this fan to replace another cooling fan I had for my laptop. I have to say I like this one even better than my previous fan since this one allows you to move the location of the fan from side to side on the fly, so you can position it better to where you need without having to hold the laptop awkwardly off to one side like I sometimes had to with my old fan. This cooling fan is very lightweight and compact, but still comes with several height settings you can use to adjust it and further increase airflow. The fan speed is good, quiet, and the lights that come on are not obtrusive and do a good enough job to let you know the fan is on without being distracting. The fan also comes with 4 USB ports so it actually is a net gain if you use a lot of devices for your laptop. The fan also has tabs that flip up in the front to hold the laptop, and these are a good length to keep the laptop steady but not too high so they don't bother your hands/wrists. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and the unit.
