Small, bright, practical
I don't know why Amazon only tends to list PACKAGE dimensions and not so much the actual size of the item. In this case, the description says "Item Dimensions L x W x H 6 x 4 x 1 inches" when the clip light is apx. 1 7/8" x 1 1/4" x 1/2" (Including the on/off button protrusion).Measurement does not include the metal tension clip that holds the light in place very securely. To those saying the clip is weak? I don't see how, unless they got a defective/damaged unit, or more likely they strong armed the wire out of shape.I had to finesse a corner of the wire holder onto my visor first, then work it a bit side to side to slip it in place-I didn't want to compromise the natural spring tension of the clip. It's not fragile, but still, take a moment and use just a little finesse is all. If any wire is bent out of shape, good luck getting it back in its original position.I don't know why so many (most all) of these kind of headlamps insist on mounting these units BENEATH the visor, which can only obstruct vision, instead of on top of the hats visor, where it belongs. Maybe those other units are not sufficiently water resistant? It's small, light weight, doesn't get in the way and is very bright, though I do not have a way to measure the actual Lumens.Mounted on my hat, it certainly illuminates well enough to avoid any trip hazard when walking around at night and is practical to use when the need presents itself, such as when a vehicle dome light is not working, or looking into recessed areas like under the dash, or even rummaging around a shed in the daytime.Yes, people say "I can just use my cell phone". Sure, who hasn't done that? But then, you're digging that brick out of your pocket or purse, (unless you left it elsewhere), then holding that brick with one hand while trying to do what needs to be done with the other until you get a call...good luck trying to contrive a place to cradle that phone safely when you need to use both hands.Cell phones are fine for general illumination, but they are inherently awkward to handle, then you have to be able to contrive a make-shift place to hold the phone into position, hoping that it's stable enough for the task at hand and doesn't slip out of place and get damaged.Even in those very awkward cases (like under a dashboard for a fuse) the hat itself serves a stabilizing base that lends itself to aiming that beam where it's needed, it's not nearly as prone to sliding around, and the clip light won't get damaged if it does slip out of place. The hat clip light allows the press a button for hands free operation with a whole lot less fumbling around to get the light where you need it. Whatever you are looking at, that's where the lights focus is.If you normally wear a hat, esp. if you wear one when outdoors working, with your dog, camping, fishing, hiking, etc., this is a great option. I have a clip light on both of my hats and one on my ball cap. No fumbling for keys when it's dark...These were going for around $5.00 for quite awhile, but more recently has been closer the current $9.75, which seems a confiscatory price point, in my view, so wait until it goes down if you can. I love these lights but that is asking too much. The 4/2023 of apx $6.50 is more like it.

WAY smaller than I expected. Bright! I now own two! So many uses.
Edit: It's been 3 months since buying my first one. I LOVE THIS LIGHT! As I mentioned, it's a great light to put on a hat. But there are so many times when I'll want a flashlight and while a cell phone has that function (sort of) it's only one little LED located in a clumsy place. I wear a holster for my phone and found that this light just clips onto the flap near my body. I don't even know it's there until I need it... and it's always there. I can't think of a day that I didn't use it at least once. My grandson loves to play with it and I've taken to carrying spare batteries for it. The batteries are skinny little CR2016 ones and sit flat in my holster in a flat compartment. When I need it for BBQing and I have my hat I'll clip it on. But if I don't have a hat and need it and need my hands free, gross as it may sound it is small enough to hold in my mouth without any discomfort as I'd have with one of those round flash lights.Original review:I didn't purchase this to mount on my hat (at least initially) but to mount to the bottom of a drone so I could more easily tell if the drone was pointed to me from a distance. After about 100 yards out they look like specks, and you can't always see your phone screen in bright sunlight. I thought this would be good to mount on the bottom of the drone with velcro to identify the front end of the drone when pointed toward me. I have yet to try it on a drone, but hoping to do so by the weekend. The thing is SMALL, about 1" x 1.5". I expected it to be thicker too. It weighs 9.79 grams without the clip (0.3 oz) with the batteries installed. The clip is securely installed in the light, but comes out with little effort and should pop back in. I frequenty run my BBQ grill outside after dark, and I do need a light to see what I'm doing. Until now I've used one of those head-mount lightwith elastic bands that go around and over your head. Not comfortable, a little heavy and a little clumsy to have several ounces sitting on my forehead. This micro light, fitted on my hat wil also fill that bill, something that I wasn't smart enough to recognize I would use in that manner until it arrived.I'm not sure about the battery life yet, but it takes two CR2016 batteries, which I have on hand when they need replacing. If I experience anything different, good or bad I'll come back and edit my review. There are lots of other reviews that will be helpful, which helped me select this light.

The perfect clip light for my needs and preferences
I do a lot of running in the late afternoon and evening, and during the fall and winter months this means that much of it is done after sunset. Almost all of the running is on trails and dirt roads, and being able to see irregularities on the running surface requires a good light. I am a minimalist, and don't like to bring anything more than I have to on a run or a hike. This clip light is one of the smallest I've ever come across, and if I don't need it at the time, it can stay on the visor of my cap or in my key pocket and I don't even know it's there. The construction and function is excellent. No blinking or red light functions -- just "on" and "off" -- all that I need. It's size is amazingly small, and since it uses lithium ion "coin batteries", it is very light. The price is very reasonable, compared to some other well-known head lamps that require the heavier AAA batteries. At about $7 apiece, I ordered 4 of them so that I would have some on hand for friends that wanted to run with me. I don't know how often the batteries have to be replaced, as I haven't used it long enough to go through a set. But since I can get them online for about 50 cents apiece, I'm not worried about that cost. I would recommend this clip light to anyone that appreciates saving weight and bulk (with no compromise on function) on runs and hikes. The only drawback I've had to face is being able to find this small tool if I've thrown it in a drawer with other larger objects heaped in.

Not the brightest but does the job
I walk four dogs in the dark and so i needed something which would give me both hands free. I can't find a suitable hat so I clip this on my lapel which actually works really well I terms of shining the light on to the ground. It's just not really bright but omg so much better than trying to hold a torch!

Great Dog Walking Light
I bought this LED Cap Light for two reasons. First I need to see to pickup after my dog when walking at night. Second I like to be very visible to cyclists on our local recreational pathways.I found the Cyclops Micro Mini LED Clip Light to be more than adequate in brightness to see by in the dark. In fact it was a lot brighter than I had expected based on other reviews. It is more than bright enough to be able to see to pickup after the dog. With this light on my cap visor, a flashing red LED light hanging from the back strap of my cap, and some flashing LED lights I attached to the dog's collar, we don't seem to have as many near misses by bicycles anymore. Now if I could just convince the cyclists to put lights and bells on their bikes . . . etc.I don't know how long the batteries will last yet. Just in case I found a very cheap source of batteries on eBay. I ordered something like 100 for less than $10.I had actually bought two of these lights from another source and was so impressed I ordered 3 more when I found them on Amazon.ca for only $7.29 each.Great product, highly recommended.

Great product but very expensive to buy in Canada
I love this product. Use it lots. I went on Amazon specifically to buy this particular light BUT way too expensive to buy in Canada. I paid because I wanted this light and this light only. Product 5 stars, Amazon pricing 1 star so 3 is the rating.
