Penn plax 1500 impeller works perfectly in the Penn plax 1200 file
I would like everyone to know that this impeller works perfectly in the Penn plax cascade 1200. It has been in operation for 1 month with issue. No modifications are required but it does create a bit higher flow rate. I am using the Penn plax cascade 1200 on a 30 gallon tank and all of my fish love the increased water flow including bottom feeders, Amano shrimp, bamboo shrimp, and small Tetras although they stay a bit lower in the tank. I highly recommend this item as a replacement for the Penn plax cascade 1200 even though some internet info says differently.

This will not work for cascade 1000
This item is not for the pennplax cascade 1000 model. Too large.

Perfect replacement part!
My fish filter sounded like it had gravel in it, so I decided to replace the impeller in hopes it would fix the problem. It was a perfect replacement for my Cascade Penn-plax 1500 impeller....and it fixed the problem. Filter works perfectly now....and quietly.

Worked perfectly
I used this on my aquarium filter and was pleasantly surprised that it worked! The canister filter was expensive and being able to just fix it with this part was great! Very easy to install! Thanks!

perfect fit!
If you have a Cascade 1500 canister filter and it sounds like there's gravel in the pump = most likely you need this product. My filter sounded just awful! It woke me up a couple times with new and very loud grinding noises... So I bought this part and installed it; sure enough, that fixed my filter! My 1500 runs as quietly as it ever did. To replace it: ~Locate the impeller on the Cascade 1500 ~give the round retainer a 1/4 turn and remove it ~Pull out the old impeller assembly ~Use a paper towel / rag and clean out as much gunk as you can from the pump ~Verify this new impeller matches the one you just took out ~Drop in the new impeller ~Tighten down the retainer cap so it is snug I posted a video clip of this on you-tube: Just search "cascade 1500 impeller"... it should be the top result. In summary: I say 5 stars out of 5. The price is reasonable, it is an easy part to install and it was exactly what I needed to fix my filter.

Works but rubber stoppers on both ends break easily
I have a fish tank filter system from pennplex which works great but unfortunately I have had to change out this propeller piece 3 times in 10 years only because the rubber nipples that go on both ends of the propeller shaft rip easily. The propeller and shaft themselves are made very sturdy. I hope to find an alternative to buying a new propeller every other year just for the rubber ends.
