Engraver that's as easy to use as a pencil
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for an engraver that was easy to use and not cumbersome. I have a Dremel and a Bosch multi tool but they’re really bulky for when I want to do something “refined” on a material like writing my initials or doing a design. I have little hands and I just feel like a clutz with those. I gave this engraver a try due mostly to it being very portable and looked like it could just be held like a pencil. The engraver comes in easy to open packaging (if you’ve bought stuff on Amazon before, you know why this is important 😊). The directions are a one pager on the back of the package and concisely written. It uses 2 AAA batteries and comes with two engraving tips (they’re the same tip, one is just a replacement). There is also a tiny screwdriver to use when you switch out the tips. I switched out the tips and it is literally like a 20 second process, very smooth and easy.I was correct in thinking that this engraver would be easy to use – you do hold it just like a pencil and “write” your initials on whatever you like. I tried it on a wooden bowl that I wanted to put my initials on and it worked great. I didn’t have to press very hard and it makes very little mess if any (just some dust I wiped off with my finger). It isn’t super loud either. The sound is kind of like a very pissed off gnat 😊 It also comes with a set of stencils which I used on the bowl as well to engrave a little lotus flower just to see what that would look like.I also used it to engrave my initials on my favorite Stanley tape measure because it seems to “walk off” on its own and I mysteriously find it in my relatives’ houses. In any event, I like this little engraver because I can just grab it and engrave something within seconds and it takes up no space in the craft room.A little advice – always do some testing on something you don’t really care about (a scrap piece of wood, metal you don’t care about, etc.). As with all crafting stuff, you need to feel your way with the tool before you go full bore on a material that matters to you.

Easy and fun for beginners!
I draw and paint a little but have never ventured into etching territory. The tool itself is solid and VERY easy to use. The location of the button to operate the engraver feels natural and the grip is comfortable, which is something I was worried about as my hand cramps really easily. The button doesn’t require much to push, but I don’t worry it’ll accidentally turn on if I brush it or set it down too hard. I’m clumsy so this is nice, lol. It only takes two AAA batteries (not included) to power it, which is convenient.I tried it out on my wooden desk, a glass bottle and a metal lamp stand and it worked great on each one. You get an extra tip and stencils; which I have had fun using to decorate my desk. There is a pretty good variety of stencils and they are super cute😊. I was pleasantly surprised that the stencils hold up so well when using the engraver. What I like best is that it is SO beginner friendly! The instructions were clear and simple and it works great. The price is really inexpensive which nice, especially right now. I’m thinking about buying one for my boyfriend to play with too. I highly recommend the Easy Etcher, especially if you’re a beginner and not looking to spend a fortune. 😊

Much better than I expected & Easy Etcher is a apt name for it.
This is an easy tool to use, and a very simple learning curve. However, be aware that it will take a considerable amount of practice to get to a polished professional result. I used it on a resin sculpture and signing my name was pretty easy. But the variations in depth and width is obvious in the script. It’s a great way to put your identification on various tools or personal items, though The vibration is fast enough it doesnt seem to skitter much, allowing pretty good control. It will be worth the time needed to practice and perfect your skills.

Great etcher
I found this product after searching around for a new crafting tool. I immediately purchased it because of its great price and bonus items: a secondary diamond tip and a full pack of stencils. The stencils are especially nifty because I’ll be able to use them for other projects too. As far as the etcher itself: it’s amazing! So glad I made the purchase. You basically just hold it as you would a pencil, and the on button is conveniently placed so you can use either forefinger or thumb to press the button. I have tried other similar tools but this one definitely outranks the rest. It has a comfort grip which allows for easy control. It works very smoothly, and you don’t have to apply a ton of pressure as with other tools. I played around with this tool on plastic, cardboard, wood, glass and metal. The tip glides around effortlessly on each type of surface. I had fun using this etcher to personalize a few of my own items, and even added my dog’s name to her treat bin. I used the bunting flag banner for extra flair! Pro tip: use a pencil to trace the stencil onto your project first - that way you don’t have to worry about holding the stencil down while you are etching.

Easy etcher
It says it can work on wood but it doesn’t seem strong enough. It works well on glass. There are different attachments which is great but nothing that tells you what each attachment does. I wish there was something that you told you what each attachment does.
