I bought this product and installed it in my staff vehicle before leaving the country for a while. I bought a good quality SD card and relevant connectors to go into the fuse box. I set it motion detection and display screen to go off after a minute.However, on return, my staff reported several incidents to which I was confident were captured by the cam. Alas! I found the camera had frozen and could not switch off! Tried to reset, remove SD card but no success in turning it off. I removed the power lead and left it out until the battery drained. I reinserted the power lead and it powered.In short, since purchasing the dashcam, it has been unreliable, freezing, turns itself off and very difficult to rely on it to produce the evidence I need when required!I visited Halfords who provided their high quality SD card and reset the device. Again, same problem. They were willing to swap it only that I didn't buy it from them. I emailed Nextbase but no response.I now have a device I spent so much money, especially the 512G being one of the latest ones around December 2016.Rather disappointed by Nextbase, myself for being away so long to have been out of the warranty period. Now I'm stuck with it!

Don't bother! Stopped working 3 days after warranty ran out. Neither nextbase or izilla interested.

The only problem I had was with the hard wired kit, because my car fuses were too short to insert into the fuse carrier of the the hard wire kit. I had to install into a spare fuse way. Once installed, the hardest thing was adding my vehicle registration details into the camera. Once that was completed, I found that it worked fine.One slight niggle, to be able to use it as a surveillance camera for your vehicle, each time you have to activate the motion sensor setup from the menu. This made everything a bit fiddly. But the quality of the camera, and ease of use was fantastic... This review is for the Nextbase 512G Dash Cam. Purchased this in Car Dash Cam about a week ago. Package arrived next day (Prime) no issues. Very pleased with quality of product, only wish a Micro SD Card was included in the price, however, I purchased a Sandisk 32Gb Class 10 Micro SD card from Amazon. No issue with initial setup, fairly simple to complete, the majority of settings I required were default settings and all I added was my Car Reg No. Installation in the car was simple enough, I chose to install camera behind rear view mirror as recommended. No issues with the suction mount, the trick is to ensure the screen is clean prior to fitting. Once you fit the camera to the suction mount, position so that you get maximum view of road and less of the sky. Additionally you need to adjust the polarising filter on the camera lens. Place a sheet of white paper on the dash under the camera and rotate the ring on the lens until the paper appears to virtually disappear on the camera screen. Get it right and it makes a big difference to the quality of the recorded picture. I used the provided cable to plug into the 12v socket, just routed the cable round the windscreen in the roof lining and pillar and excess cable under the dash. The cable is fairly long (4m) so should be adequate for most cars. No need to touch camera once installed, it switches on and off with ignition controlled 12v socket. Included software (Mac & Windows) for viewing recorded video footage is excellent. Quality of recording (1080p) is excellent. All in all, very pleased and would recommend.

I bought this camera by recommendation of my friend who already had it. The camera is of a good size, bigger then my previous one. The picture on camera screen very clear and very high quality. Setting up process took about half an hour (including reading manual and looking through buttons). The only difficult part was where to place it, as my car quite small so it took a bit of time for positioning. The camera works well, it shows road at wide angle so you can see cars in both lanes. Video player for playback shows map, speed and more. The picture is very good. I would say that despite camera's good size and positioning (right behind/under the back view mirror) it does not distracts me from driving and virtually invisible.I would recommend the camera for my friends now as a must have. The Amazon price was reasonable and about £20.00 cheaper then at Halfords.I ordered car wiring kit but did not set it up yet, but it looks promising.
