Sturdy bookshelf. Great value for money. Hard to assemble.
✓ Package arrived on time and in perfect condition. No damages. No missing parts. Please note that this product is shipped via Ground and by "on time" I mean the normal amount of time it takes for Ground shipping (In my case it usually takes 6-7 days). ✓ Material : Particle boards. Particle Wood Frame. ✓ Quality: Great. Extremely sturdy! ✓ All required Hardware are included. In addition to the included hardware, the assembly process requires a Philip screwdriver. I also used a 3.6V power screwdriver (from Ikea). ✓ Assembly and installation: Hard. - The instruction manual contains only picture illustrations. It does not provide any worded explanation. But the illustrations are quite understandable. - The pre drilled holes are a little too small for the included hardware. This requires us to put in a lot of power and effort to install this bookshelf. I used a 3.6 V power screwdriver in certain steps during the installation and it saved me a lot of energy. - Even though at the end of the installation we get a sturdy and strong bookshelf, I strongly feel that the entire process could have been made a lot more easier if only the predrilled holes were a little bigger. ✓ This bookshelf can be used as a stand alone assembly OR could be installed on to the wall. Hardware is included for both options. I opted to use this as a standalone assembly. For this, two blocks are included which need to be attached to the two hind legs of the bookshelf. This prevents the bookshelf from tipping over. But please note that if you are using this standalone option, the bookshelf is going to be protruding 3.5 inches from the wall. ✓ So at the end, I've got a very strong and sturdy bookshelf after a long and tedious installation process. The exceptional quality and sturdiness of this product outweighs the problems encountered during it's installation. Hence I've given it a 5 star rating. ✓ Dimensions; Overall height - 71" Width - 25" Depths of the shelves are as follows: Bottom most shelf - 13.5" First shelf from the bottom - 11.1" Second shelf from the bottom - 9" Third shelf from bottom (second from top) - 6.8" Top most shelf - 4.5"

Really nice display shelves for great price
I use this as a display shelf for dolls. It was not easy to put together - but that wasn't a problem because I let my husband do it. It's a great size, the varying depth of selves is perfect for different sizes of dolls and it looks great.

Fairly Sturdy
Pros: It looks pretty from across the room. The frame is actual wood and has an even, glossy finish, while the shelves have a "brown" veneer that makes it less attractive (see photo). But once you get stuff on them, that veneer is barely visible. It IS pretty sturdy - I do not expect "puppy parkour" to knock it over even if I don't attach it to the wall. It has good height (I'm 5'5-1/2" and it's taller than me), which is what I was looking for. Cons: This thing was a beast to put together. Be sure to grab a real screwdriver and (if you have one) a nut driver with a hex bit (they send an allen wrench) as the pre-drilled holes need a little muscle to get the hex-head screws in. Pro tip - install the wood pegs and cam studs FIRST, then drop the shelves into place and attach all the screws - yes, the second rail goes on AFTER putting the shelves on. Second pro tip: when putting the shelves on, put the top one on first and work your way down. The picture-directions show you putting screws in after you put the shelves on, but if you put the lower shelves on first, you have very little room to work when doing the next layer up, even if you put it together with it laying on its side because the rails are in the way. There are small brass L brackets used to support the FRONT of each shelf. Unfortunately, they are obvious once it's all put together. But the only thing holding the front of the shelves up is the cam and stud and they are very cheap and fragile, so if you don't use the support brackets and put something heavy on the shelf, you could end up wearing it. A real irritation - the seller put actual stickers directly on the wood on the outside of the sides. And while that's great for identifying which part is which, trying to peel them off will get you nothing but sticky stuff. Third pro tip - use WD40 on a rag to get the stickers off. Wipe the WD40 on and let it sit for a few moments. The sticker should peel right off along with the sticky stuff. I do not recommend using a blade to scrape it as the finish isn't the greatest and might be damaged, but if you're patient, it might work. I just used my thumb nail. Overall: It looks good from across the room and will do the trick, but it would almost be worth paying someone else to put it together!! LOL ***Sorry the photos are sideways. Old photo software that won't allow me to put them upright! But they show the color of the shelves compared to the rails, the stickers, the L brackets and the overall finished product.

Nice ladder shelf
I love it. Sturdier than I expected. Just what I wanted. My husband put it together and said it was alittle difficult to put together. Took a couple of hours.

This cute shelf is the WORST thing EVER!
1 Star - for it being cute. But the person who engineered this, and also whoever wrote the instructions at Amazon should literally be FIRED. Let me start this by saying I've successfully built and installed MANY different IKEA pieces, including an ENTIRE KITCHEN. This Amazon Basics shelf makes IKEA furniture look magical and like little elves probably came and built the IKEA piece for you because it was so easy. ***If you have problems putting IKEA furniture together, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!!***** This dumb shelf took me an HOUR to put together because it is so STUPIDLY designed. First of all, to whoever wrote the instructions, Step 3 should be Step 1! That would have made things way easier, but more on that later. To the idiot who engineered this piece of junk (which by the way, the finish is junk and chipping at all the edges), you NEVER, ever, require the use of an Alan Wrench on something large that needs to be built flat. I guarantee that the majority of people are going to be building this on the floor (given not may people have a giant work table just laying around (as I can only assume the builders at Amazon had when designing this). So the first steps are basically impossible unless you sit with the shelf in your lap to turn the Alan Wrench. Now where Step 3 should be 1. If you see this, put those weird 'screw dowel things' in first, otherwise you will have NO room to turn a screwdriver (see my one photo of how tight it is). This problem made things go WAY slower than needed. Or use a tiny handle screwdriver, which will cause its own issues. The metal screw 'catch' things you are so used to in IKEA furniture is used in this shelf as well, but unlike IKEA, none of these want to go in. I had to force 90% of them in, and one just never would go in (I tried several), so who knows if my shelf will stay together. Nothing fits well, and there was a lot of 'forcing' happening. I was literally sweating on a 60 degree day because it was so hard to put this thing together. One would think the process would get easier as you go, but no, just more frustrations. The shelves, which have no indication of front or back (either on the piece or the instructions), if they are put in wrong (which you won't know until the end) you won't be able to screw in the shelf supports because a hole will be missing.... not that the holes line up in the right spot even when you do have the shelf the right direction. They put labeling stickers on the shelf pieces, and they couldn't even bother putting them in spots that wouldn't show... or using stickers that would peel off. If you can find a similar shelf that's even $100 and EASIER to put together, I say go with that. Literally so frustrated at this shelf.

Very sturdy, slightly tedious to put together
Overall I'm very happy with this bookshelf, it wasn't expensive, wasn't bad to put together, and seems sturdy. The instructions are only diagrams but if you take some time to look through them first and match up the various screws and parts it's not bad. I've ordered another and will definitely use a drill next time since it took more elbow grease than I expected especially for all the small fiddly screws for the brackets. The whole thing fit together well though, which was nice since I've had some cheap furniture that didn't line up at all. I haven't put anything in it yet but it seems very sturdy and the instructions say that each shelf holds 25 lbs. There are extra blocks you can screw on to make it more stable if you don't attach it to the wall, but I may remove them so it's flat against the wall instead.

Not “to” bad for amazon basics product
Will start with this is a amazon basics product so I only assumed about a 50/50 quality. Used a promotional credit to knock some money off so i will just give a fair review. The expresso is a nice color. And none of the pieces were damaged upon opening. And mine was not a return. I am very pleased with this product. Now to the other 50. Lots of reviews of awful assembly instructions and they show to build it laying flat but I built it on its side, much easier. The support brackets for the front of the shelves made tiny hairline cracks so after i experienced this with the first bottom shelf i just didn’t tighten the rest of them all the way. Still plenty of stability and not very noticeable at all. My biggest grip is one of the holes was not drilled in the correct spot it was about a 1/4 in off for the main stud on the bottom shelf of the upper section. I did post pics. After getting that squared away i was able to finish up and it turned out good. Could use a tad wood stain to touch up some visible edges but otherwise very satisfied after getting past drilling the new hole. Matches the bob’s furniture pecan storage bed almost perfectly which was the main reaon i chose this and hoped it would be nice.
