Timman's Titans: My World Chess Champions

I am transported to the places and people visited by Mr. Timman. I have followed his games in the 80-90s as a world class player and world championship challenger against Karpov. The book reads like an adventure/ mystery novel with great analysis of the selected games.A fun read!

There is nothing to dislike about this book and everything to enjoy. I feel it is the perfect balance of real insights into each chess master and an illustrative game. The authors use of annotations adds a rich substance to each game without the oft repeated pablum. If you are looking just for a laundry list of games this is not the book for you.

The games are deeply analyzed, and the behind-the- scenes tensions and conflicts will be of interest to almost any chess enthusiast.

I had a digital one, very interesting for chess enthusiast.

I've read the previous mixeday reviews. I have only had this a couple of days and it appears really good. A mixture of real life and passion for the history of chess, mixed with games annotated. So far very good!

Excellent general chess book with loads of entertaining anecdotes and many games. Can be enjoyed by players of all levels. A gem of 20th century chess history.

New stories among the fantastic and greatly annotated games. Much better than I expected, there is a personal touch!

Didn't read all of it but somewhat historical while not mentionning chess games as expected by me
