The Eternity Key (Into the Dark)

The Eternity Key is the second book in the Into the Dark Series. The books must be read in order to understand the story. This book is told from Daphne, Haden, and Tobin’s POV. It is a young adult urban fantasy/Greek mythology book. The story involves the Persephone/Hades and Orpheus myths plus a small bit about Eros and Psyche myth.The Eternity Key picks up about two weeks after The Shadow Prince Ends. Daphne, Haden, Tobin, Dax, Garrick, Joe and Lexie are trying to find the Key without the Compass without luck. Four months has passed since Haden has left the Underworld and they don’t have much time until Persephone’s gate opens again requiring Haden to return or King Ren sends people out to find him and Daphne. They are trying to stay under the radar of the Skylords unsuccessfully. Plus the musical must go on.This book had the excitement of The Shadow Prince and more. The characters are more developed giving a very intimate feel to them. Haden and Daphne’s relationship is wonderful and complex. Both are amazing in this book. Daphne starts to understand what it means to be the Cypher. Haden starts to make decisions based on right and wrong, and love. The mythology is incredible, building on the previous book’s myths. Eros and Psyche are mixed in unexpectedly in the most delicious way. The subtle background information that was given in the first book comes and kicks your butt in this book. Wow I didn’t see this coming.This book has a HUGE cliffhanger ending that leaves you wanting. I have such a hangover for the next book. This book could go as young as 12 easily.

The sequel was just as good as the first book. Maybe even better.Haden and Daphne are on the search for the eternity key, but so are the sky lords and someone from Haden's past.Daphne excepts her role as the cypher and learns that she contains musical powers that allow her to control the elements.Haden has deep feelings for Daphne, but is to stubborn to admit it directly. He is willing to sacrifice everything in order to keep her safe!When the situation turns critical, it is Daphne's turn to follow Haden 'into the dark'!

This was a fast paced enjoyable second installment. The reader gets to see deeper into the characters mind set. There are new characters introduced. And the ending I don't think I ever saw coming. I can't wait to get to the next one.

Love these books! Never a dull moment! Most books have me skimming the majority but so far this series is a smooth read! Can't wait to read book 3!!!!

Can't wait for the conclusion, it kept me in suspension throughout the whole novel. Good move leaving the readers with a cliffhanger

Was captivating for Iomega the beginning. The characters evolved abs the story unfold to a point at which you felt you were part of it. Where is book 3

Fast passed and an easy read. Really enjoyed where this left off and look forward to reading the next one.

I wish it wouldn't ended like that due to lack of sufficient resolution and I can't decide if it was anticlimactic or not.
