I have been involved in woodworking for some 50+ years and recently started to look for another avenue to explore. I purchased a scroll saw and needed some plans and hopefully some hints on how to proceed. This book has provided me with a wonderful source of creative box making projects starting with simple boxes and moving along to more advanced. The choices and skill levels are rewarding to the woodworker as well as to the person receiving the finished project. Great plans that produce great results. The author has taken considerable space in this book to guide the beginner in wood choice, scroll saw and blade choices as well as finishing techniques. Hints and suggestions are seen throughout the book. I am very glad to have found this book and from it, I am now making some wonderful gifts and enjoying every minute with my scroll saw and hand tools.

This book and most of the projects in it are for the intermediate scroller; however, there are some projects for the novice. The ideas in the book make me want to experiment and use the patterns without piecing the wood together to make the light and dark designs. A good book to grow into.

As someone new to using a scroll saw and also self-taught, this book was useful in demonstrating techniques that could be applied to all sorts of projects. I have followed the basic instructions--not particularly interested in the specific projects--wanted something to use to help me understand how to put projects together. Great for this use.

Projects are attractive, but methods are repetitive. And how many small boxes can one household use.Could be used for unique gift packaging for jewelery, candies, nuts, etc.

Lots of cool projects. Found some that I think I can use to store and hide my poison collection. Delivered quickly.

Can't wait for spring so I can start using my scroll saw. Too much snow right now! LOL

Not sure what I expected. More, perhaps. Yes, you can do the multi-colored boxes shown on the cover, but how many of them do you need? One, I'm guessing. This is a good book and it clearly shows you how to do what it says it will, but I guess I was hoping for a little scroll saw magic.

Cela fait une très belle gamme de livre sur les boîtes tous les une plus intéressante que les autres.Enfin pour en revenir a l'ouvrage concerner ici, vous trouverez une gamme de boîtes a petits compartiment de formes varier, carré, triangle, étoiler, ronde etc... ensuite en vous propose une gamme de petites boîtes à tiroirs toujours de formes varier avec une multitudes de combinaisons pour les tiroirs aussi bien sur les formes que sur les intérieurs divers, puis une sublime gamme de boîte a compartiment en création bicolore, ce qui donne un effet superbe et complique les réalisations.Vous découvrirez aussi comment créer vos propre charnières en bois et des réalisations un peut plus simple du style boîte a tissu, bloc papier etc ....Dans cette ouvrage tout est conçu d'une très belle façon en couleurs et en images, avec les plans taille réelle, si bien réaliser que vous avez un fois de plus pas besoin de savoir l'Anglais.Voilà moi qui suis très attirer par les jolie petites boîtes peut ordinaire je vous assure que je suis 100%100 combler par ce livre ainsi que ce que je site plus haut.Amicalement Sandrine

Bought this book as a beginner to scroll sawing . I thought the projects might be a bit beyond me as initially they looked a bit complex, however once you get started and with the clear instructions they are actually quite straightforward and enjoyable. I have had the book about three weeks and have completed 4 boxes which should make good Xmas presents ( hopefully they won’t be examined too closely for any mistakes). Will look forward to completing many more projects . Just wish it was easier & cheaper to source hardwoods in the necessary thicknesses.
