A SUPERB SET OF STRINGS!
As a reputed CG dealer in the past, I have strung-up and played many, many high-end instruments. I prefer high tension on most or even extra hard. This set of Savarez is a great sounding set with great feel. pronounced basses, and unparalleled trebles that simply shine. The intonation settles within a reasonable amount of time and the longevity won't disappoint. I also play jazz and have these strings on my nylon cutaway where they also sound balanced and fantastic when using a pick. I love these strings. Keep in mind, like anything else, strings are subjective. Happy playing and enjoy!

Amazing Strings!
My Cordoba guitar came new with the Savarez $9.00 500CJ yellow pack of strings on it. They sounded okay, but I knew that with the right strings my guitar would sound great, and boy oh boy, these strings are it! Great trebles, balanced lows, excellent tone, and they are much louder than the strings that came on my guitar. It seems, also, that the treble strings are smaller in diameter than standard strings, which is something I like. I'm sure glad I changed out my strings for these. These strings really shine on the recordings I've done--the notes are clear and sound just right to me, as opposed to way my guitar sounded with the original strings on it--a little too bassy and muffled. Yeah...they're a little more expensive, but the value, to me, is more than worth the extra cost. Additionally, after some years of trying various strings, I have found that I am especially fond of two types of strings on my guitar: these 500AJs and the Hannabach Goldin strings. Both, to my ear, sound similar both live and in recording; however, I believe that I get more projection from the Savarez strings, and they are less than half the price of the Hannabach. As far as I am concerned, you can't go wrong with either of these strings.

Great sound, tone, and touch
I purchased these strings to replace so old string on my Yamaha. I was not disappointed by these in the slightest. I've only played guitar for about a year and a half, the labels for each individual string made it easy for me to know which string belonged where. I also found the strings weren't damaged during shipping or anything like that there were no kinks or anything on the strings when they arrived. As far as sound, these are a dream. They have really good sustain and the tone is very bright. What immediately stood out to me was how they felt on my fingers. While you can certainly tell the high tension and require a bit more strength to fret correctly they are very smooth and easy to move up and down the fretboard. I've had these for 6 months and I play them for at least a half hour a day and they still sound how they did when I first tuned them up. All and all i couldn't ask for more out of guitar strings definitely worth the money.

Favorite Strings
The Savarez 500AJ are my favorites after the 500CJ that came on my sweet Cordoba C3M. Both sets have the rich deep singing magic of the Corum bases, and the CJ Cristal trebles are excellent. But I find the carbon Alliance trebles on the AJ set just more full and sweet and magical. I tried a number of other very nice strings from D'Addario, La Bella, and Savarez in both regular and high tension. The Savarez 500AJ are my clear favorites! I would say they produce a sweet ringing singing sound with a little something extra. I'm not a pro, but play a little each day, and the high tension AJ strings are no problem for my left hand fingers. Now several years later I still love these Savarez 500AJ. I've used many sets, 2-3 times per year. But I tried D'Addario Fluorocarbons high tension just to follow Tommy Emanuel's advice to try new strings every now and then to wake up your guitar. Those Pro-Arte EJ46FF I put on 11 months ago sounded great at the time and still sound great now. I have some new Savarez 500AJ to put on, but each time I try my guitar with the Pro-Arte's,, they still sound so good I don't feel like wasting my time changing strings. So that's puts the D'Addario and Savarez fluorocarbons almost in a tie for my favorite strings. I said "almost" because I have been happy for years with Savarez, and I love Cordoba guitars which ship with Savarez, so Savarez remains first choice for me.

How I have broken three Savarez d-string.
About 18 months ago, I bought a Córdoba C5 guitar. It came with Savarez Corum Alliance 500AJ High Tension Classical Guitar strings. It used to sounds great. During that time I brought my guitar to different places, even to some islands in the Caribbeans or Indian Ocean where humidity was high. Few months ago, I noticed that bass strings became a little bit rusty, and overall, strings stopped to sound as brightly as they used to. So, I decided to change all of them. I bought three packs of Savarez 500AJ Alliance Corum High Tension Classical Guitar Strings (the same as my original set) and replaced the whole originals set of string on my guitar. The sound became way better, but it took them about a couple of weeks to settle. About a month after that, when I tried to tune the 1st string (e-string), this string has got broken. I was quite surprised, since I had never broken any nylon string before while playing them for more than 50 years. I used to get broken a few metal strings, but not a nylon one. So, I replaced it with the 1st string from my second set, but at the same time bought D'Addario Pro-Arte Nylon Core EJ44 extra hard tension, since I wanted to compare them. Meanwhile, I had constantly been tuning the 1st string from the Savarez set, because it still continued to settle. In three days, my replaced 1st string got broken again during the tuning and I had to put a new e-string on again from my third Savarez set. It was my last string from Savarez 500AJ Alliance Corum High Tension Classical Guitar Strings set. Not surprisingly, I was starting to get worried. What was wrong? Does it mean that all the Savarez string sets had some hidden defect or my guitar was guilty? The hint was that all strings got broken at the same place - at the nut. However, the e-string from my original set lasted for more than a year and had never get broken. Of course, I had to tune it many times. Why the new Savarez sets got broken one after another? Less than three hours later, my last Savarez string broke again. Of course, I had to tune all the new 1st strings constantly, since they were settling, but I performed the same tuning to all other strings as well and they did not get broken. Since I no longer had any available Savarez e-strings, I had to put on a new D'Addario Pro-Arte Nylon Core EJ44 extra hard tension 1st e-string. I had never used any D'Addario strings before, and I found them quite different from Savarez ones. The thickness of D'Addario e-string was higher than Savarez' ones. According to some sites, it is 0.64 mm vs 0.737 mm. On the first day after the installation, the sound of the new D'Addario string looked to me a little bit nasal, and Savarez sound definitely used to be better. However, after a day the D'Addario string sound became way better. I even started to liked it more than Savarez. It lasted longer, its surface was smoother, and, of course, it did not get broken. However, the string was less flexible during a play than the Savarez one. I am thinking about replacing the whole set of the string and buying another set of D'Addario Pro-Arte Nylon Core EJ44 extra hard tension strings. Conclusion: I think the Savarez' d-string got broken on my Córdoba C5 guitar, probably due to higher tension in the segment of the string between the nut and the string's post. I carefully inspected the groove on the nut. It did not look deep and narrow, so it could not pinch the string. It seems to me that the surface of the nut and the string had high friction between each other, so the tension could not get distributed along the whole string, but only concentrated between the string's post and the nut. Since this part of the string is rather short, it could not stretch enough to accommodate the tension and got broken relatively easily. It looks like the D'Addario strings are smoother and able to slide better than Savarez' ones. Therefore, the tension was distributed along the whole string and the string could accommodate to it way better than Savarez' string. Perhaps, I also could use some lubricant to decrease the friction between d-string and the nut, but learned about this possibility only after putting on the new D'Addario string. By the way, searching Internet, I did find some people who complain about the same problem. That is why I think that my conclusion has some basis in the reality.
