What About the BIG Stuff ? by Richard Carlson
I actually picked up this book at a garage sale one Saturday morning. I've always enjoyed "self help" books, and this one looked interesting. I didn't realize at the time I picked it up, but none even came close to how much I needed this one.At the time I was going through an extremely difficult time in my life and, when looking back(as this was in 09')...finding this book I do believe happened for a reason. I had just recently lost my mother and was not coping very well at all with her loss. To add to my stress,I had JUST moved and was pulling myself together to go through a divorce. Also on top of that, to add more stress I had JUST started a new job with a new company just days before she passed. This book was an amazing read into how to cope with all I was going through.Over the years I have recommended this book to many a friend. And have also sent numerous copies to those I love going through tough times. As a matter of fact....that is what brought me on here to write this review. I figure if it helped me as much as it did when I needed it...perhaps I can pass the wisdom that Mr Carlson writes so eloquently about to someone else in need. His ideas are simple yet do require some practice, but are so very helpful. If you are going through any type of BIG stuff in your life....try this book. Even if you are not? We all will at some point in our lives. it helps to be somewhat prepared for the BIG stuff when it does. Peace.

Self-Help That's Sensible
I've read this author before and enjoy his common sense approach. If you read his book "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff" and liked it, you would probably enjoy this book about some of life's larger issues. It's simple, fast reading and contains worthwhile measures to put into practice.

Well worth the read - more than once
A great help to many as it covers many real life issues that play big roles in people's personal lives. It shows people, either in families, at work or at leisure how to cope with difficulties that matter more than 1 year from now. A good book for those whose role is managing people.
