It is just an inexpensive Go/No Go tester but it works.
I don't use it often but when I have a dead computer, it is a real quick way to test the power supply. If I have questions about the voltages then I can use it to turn on the power supply and use my VOM to verify the different rail voltages. That's all I need to know to decide if the PS needs replacing. I have recommended it to a friend so yes, thumbs up.

Need a little mod for modular 4+4 pins to fit.
As the title said, I need to do a little modifying so 4+4 modular cables would fit. The clip gets in the way on some 4+4 and possibly on some 6 pin connectors. A 30-second fix with a Dremel. With these types of testers, I believe they only so that a plug has voltage. One needs an LCD type to check if the voltage is in the specification range. As for other reviews that mention -5v not lighting, most modern PSUs (24-pin ATX) do not have -5v. Some for backward compatibility. The sticker on your PSU will list the output specification.

works as advertised
I purchased this item to confirm a failed power supply. the unit worked as advertised, and confirmed internal failure of the power supply. Cost was reasonable, and unit is small and well designed.

Didn't work accurately.
The connection points are embedded in the case make some connectors unable to connect. Their plastic housing was too thick for this tester. The tester I received registered a low voltage on two working supplies. I like the fact it had no audible alarm, but not all the LEDs showing green for a working power supply annoyed me. I only tried it for the motherboard connector for the bad readings. The other side worked fine.

The 8 pin tester was bad out of the box
If this worked proper it would be a handy little power supply tool. When I plugged in the 8 pin cable into the tester is shorted out the power supply and the power supply would auto turn off to protect itself. Tried with multiple power supplies and had the same result. Do yourself a favor and purchase a quality tester for more money that has a digital display so you can see what is really happening with your PS.
