Eliminates bag replacement, seriously, there is nothing in there!
$300 is a lot to pay for something like this and I had to justify it but I’m glad I got it. It extracts all but the minuscule amount of the extremely fine micro dust that my CT26 grabs in the bag. I’ve gone through a full “basket” of collecting sander dust, domino chips and hose end cleanup on the bench and am very pleased with the performance. It fits the CT26 very solidly, doesn’t stifle suction at all and elevates the hose for bench work (I mainly us it in my shop). If I’m not buying expensive bags then I’m happy. I also don’t want to avoid general shop cleanup with my CT26 by thinking I’m just filling up an expensive bag and could do it another way. I bought the CT26 to do that job and many others to keep the air breathable and healthy as possible so why compromise. Overall it’s working great, just wish it would have been around the $200-$250 mark and I think it would be a no brainer for most to add to their cleaning arsenal.

Works Like a Champ
Arrived on time and in good condition. Set up was easy, especially after watching a third party video online. No noticiable degradation of the draw with the Dust Deputy. The only modification I had to make was adding a wye to my 2" PVC boom arm above MFT table height as the Dust Deputy adds about two feet to the height of the CT26 and the hose at the inlet of the Deputy would have to be routed down and then back up through the PVC, causing me to lose 2" of hose at the tool end. Overall, a great, well made product that is a little pricey (like what with a "Festool" related product isn't), but it will save me a small fortune in bag replacement in the CT.

The only thing it does well is collect dust.
Still with static which I thought they were supposed to have fixed. This thing gives you heart palpitations it's so bad. When it wipes out my stupid expensive vac I'll go dump it in their parking lot since they're 8 feet from my house.

Great item with a few minor issues
This is a fantastic item for a small shop. It definitely works well and saves a LOT of dust from your bags. On the flip side, I purchased this for our CT Mini and I have not managed to get it to lock in place on top. The best I can do is get it stable, but one bump and it comes loose. I do with the hose that came with it were about 6" longer as well, but it does make the bend, so I can't complain too much about that. My hose that came with the CT Mini fit on the dust deputy perfectly, which was a relief because I've heard some people have issues there. I guess I got lucky with the hose I had! It was definitely worth the money, just wish it fit my particular unit better.

Hoses detach too frequently when rolling the combined unit around the shop.
I bought this a few months ago to save money on buying replacement bag filters for my Festool CT 48 E dust collector. In that regard, the Ultimate Dust Deputy really does help. A lot of particulates and debris get removed from the air stream before it arrives at the filter bag, resulting in much longer periods of time before those incredibly expensive replacement bags might be required. In fact, months later, I'm still using the original bag that came with my Festool. The fact that the bag gathers far less debris also keeps the 137 CFM airflow of the CT 48 E consistently high during use. With these benefits, this should be the perfect addition to a high-end Festool dust collector and would pay for itself very quickly, despite the high price tag. As I said, this device "should be the perfect addition" to a Festool dust collector. Sadly, it isn't perfect. For me, there is one very annoying problem with this device. The tapered design of the hose ports combined with the terrible friction fit hose connectors allows the hose to pop off of the unit whenever it bumps into something. Considering the imposingly tall combined dust collection device is on wheels and is meant to be dragged around the shop for use with various tools, the hose bumps into things a lot more often than one might imagine. I talked to Oneida's support about the problem and they gave me some useful tips, but no single tip prevented the hose from sliding off when it bumped into something. They seemed genuinely interested in resolving my problems, which was nice. They even asked me if I could work with their engineers to figure out a workaround for the perpetually popping hose connection. Sadly, I couldn't accept their offer to work for free as a temporary consulting engineer. (Sorry, I couldn't resist the dig. LOL) Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure their engineers already know what the most consistent hose attachment mechanism would be. In my own case, I was eventually able to keep the hose attached using the combination of a couple of their suggestions. I did it by applying some silicone adhesive to the friction fit contact surface and then adding pipe clamps I purchased until it stopped popping loose. Still, this isn't what I would consider the "ideal" solution. Between the smears/blobs of silicone adhesive which oozed out around the connection and the primitive looking pipe clamps, this is a fairly ugly fix. The amateurish appearance of this fix is really driven home when you stop to consider the combined $1,100 price tag of the resulting ponderously awkward "portable" dust collector. However, the adhesive and clamps do serve to keep the hose firmly attached. In hindsight, I probably would have drilled holes and added screws to keep the hose fittings attached, rather than use the clamps. Maybe it's just me, but every time I see the clamps I think of the leaky radiator hoses on my first car four decades ago. So, how could Oneida fix this problem? They really need to add locking connectors to their hoses and ports. Adding twist lock connectors to the hose and ports would make this a 5-star product. In summary, since I needed to physically alter this plastic box to get the hoses to stay attached, I feel I can only give it 3 stars. Without twist lock hose fittings I am also hesitant to recommend it with any enthusiasm. Here is my opinion: If you don't mind hacking this unit a little to get a more reliable hose connection (which likely voids the warranty) then I'd say go for it. Even if I knew in advance about the hose popping off, I'd probably still buy this unit again just for the long term cost savings and consistently strong suction. Once you get past the hose issues, It works pretty well. Good luck! I hope this information was helpful.

Great addition to Festool dust extractor
This sit's on top of my CT 26 festool dust extractor . This is my second unit . Another sits on my other CT 26 . My first one has been in use in a commercial setting for 6 months of daily use. I have yet to fill up a vacuum bag . I have emptied the bin on the Oneida probably 6 times and the bag in the 26 is almost empty . Their is just a little dust in the bag after all this time . The Oneida separator really does it's intended job very well. No noticeable in suction velocity either . Very pleased or I wouldn't have bought a second.

Makes your shop vac more efficient
This turned my regular shop vac into a dust collection vac. Only the dust goes into my shop vac. The larger pieced stay in the top section.
