Solution for an amazing price!!
I was silly and didn't my enough space on my mac. It was bad! But this has been a great solution in combination with the dolly drive cloud service!! simply to install.. the 64gb micro sd I purchased fit perfectly. I was able to transfer my entire iTunes library to it easily.. ( I found some tutorials on youtube to do it correctly so I don't even notice. Works seemsly - look up transfer itunes to external drive). I am weary of flash drive so it syncs to a cloud daily!! (no fear of losing my data). It stays in the port and so far no real issues. Every now and then when I would power my computer up or down it would say an external device was not ejected properly but with it backing up on a cloud I am not that worried. Great simple product.Result!! Added an extra 64gb of data .. for less than $60 and didn't void my warranty of the computer!! Perfect!!Plus the tech guys were awesome and sweet. I received my product just in time.

Quality is not there for a fairly expensive adapter. I hope their new cards are better built.
I used this adapter along with a 64GB micro SD card and it worked great in my Asus Zenbook for about 9 months. I used it to store my iTunes library so I didn’t eat into the small SSD I had for my other data. I took it out of the laptop maybe 6 times during that period to read other SD cards from my digital camera. I also store my computer in a laptop bag while transporting it so it isn’t getting bumped into or abused in any way like it would out in the open. It sits almost flush with my laptop and I figured everything would be fine because it spends most of the time in my computer. I pulled it out the last time a month ago and a small plastic piece fell on my desk. I inspected it and come to find out it was from the edge by the connector on the card where you slip the micro SD card into. Now when I hold it between my fingers the card is pulling apart and feels like it could break into pieces if I handle it much more. I don’t have a lot of options when it comes to short SD adapters for my Asus Zenbook, but this will definitely not be my next choice when/if I choose to replace it.

Perfect for Raspberry Pi
I don't really like the idea of plugging a piece of tape into an expensive laptop computer, although it looked more than adequate for removing the card. I would have ordered the more expensive option this seller provides had I purchased them for a Mac laptop. They are perfect for Raspberry Pi computers though and can be removed from some of the cases without the use of the tape strip. I was able to remove the tape from the card and it is still easily removable from one of the cases I am using. With another case, I might need to leave the tape strip on one of the cards I have purchased if I want the card to be easily removable, however I might not need the card to be easily removable with that case anyway. If you are considering purchasing this for a Mac laptop, the more expensive card would be a better optionUPDATED REVIEW:I"ve had three of the four cards I purchased start to separate. When they begin to separate, they no longer function properly. The seller was nice enough to send out two more cards, however I don't even think I will bother asking for another replacement. These adaptors just don't seem to hold up well.

PERFECT FOR A 2013 MACBOOK PRO RETINA 13!
Got Minidrive V2, air/pro/retina....Smaller foot print/ sticks out only 2mm from the SDXC slot! Perfect for occasional removal. No need for the plastic insert that your supposed to fold back into the slot. I have a Speck Macbook case that adds about 1mm of plastic armor around the macbook, so really only 1mm of the minidrive is exposed. If you read the instructions, you may actually trim 2mm off the drive with a sharp instrument... But i would not just cause it doesnt bother me.Smaller and faster than the Sandisk Cruzer Fit 64GB it replaced (6MB/20MB write/read), but write speeds of the minidrive are only a touch faster.Im using 64GB G.skill SDXC UHS1 card which is capable of writing @ 12MB/sec, and reading at 26MB/sec (mp4 movie files) using its own full size SDXC adapter. In my tests, the Minidrive transfers a 2GB MP4 x.264 movie file at rates of 7.3/7.4 MB/sec. (read/write)........ Quite a let down..... I tried two different formats, FATex and NTFS... no difference. In closing, I love the size of the minidisk; I get 64GB more disk space and my USB 3.0 port back. The 1 MB/sec increase in write speed helps greatly from my 64GB Cruzer Fit, but the loss in read speed is quite disappointing. It works fine if you want to move your music and movie library to this drive. Playback of 1080p HD movies is fine and near instantaneous... I even use it to download all my torrent files directly too it.... I would not reccomend this for any kind of photo editing where you need some bandwidth to move data fast. I save that for my USB 3.0 flash drives. This is a great buy if you are looking to expand your mac's SSD and use that underutilized SD card reader!

Potential for getting stuck in a MacBook, works GREAT in a Raspberry PI!!!
Lets be clear. The MinDrive does EXACTLY what it's supposed to do. It allows you to insert a Micro SD card into your MacBook and not have the huge stub of the end sticking out. Where the MiniDrive fails is that it has a 1/2" long strip of plastic secured to it so that you can eventually retrieve the MiniDrive from your MacBook. As another customer mentioned, it ruins the clean look. Think of it as going to an interview with the tags still on your new pants. It's possible to tuck that piece of plastic in so that you can't see it, but be careful as you may have trouble getting it untucked later. All in all though, it was well worth the money!11/10/13: Just a quick update to pass along another interesting note about this product. It fits PERFECTLY into a Raspberry Pi when using a PiBow case. If you use the Adafuit Micro-USB adaptor board you'll see that the case bows a little when you tighten it down due to the thickness of it. No such problem here. It slides in nicely and the little plastic tab allows for removal if you want to change cards.03/09/14: Another thing of note. This is NOT meant for frequent swapping around from device to device. It's pretty flimsy. the tiny tines between the contacts will bend really easily. You'd be better off going with a PNY StorEDGE (which works great.
