If your weight is correct (18 oz), probably so. They list the maximum weight as 4.4 lbs, and I've used mine successfully at or near this weight. Just remember their recommended exposure based on focal length, which for 800 mm would be 100/800, or 1/8 of a minute, which is only 7 1/2 seconds, so this will necessitate a very high ISO setting.
