Great quality for the price
Decided to upgrade after a couple of yards with some old and outdated cameras. Looking to stay within budget but find a camera that would provide great quality, I found it in this 5MP camera. It is designed beautifully and easy to install. Can't go wrong with it's sharp and clear picture.

Would have preferred a little wider field of vision
The wider the field of vision, the lower the resolution. It's resolution is good, but wish the field of vision was wider.

Meets and exceeds expectations.
While the product was small in size, the picture is clear and crisp. Replaced a 2mp mini turret camera that was on it's way out with this unit. It exceeded my expectations in quality and ease of use.I would buy again as needed.

Easy to hook up. kind of
So I bought a refurb set: six cams from B&H for $375 and it came with an NVR and power injector. Everything worked the first time once I realized that I was not going to be able to use my existing desktop, or at least I couldn't. I'm not sure, but I think these are being discontinued; the story of my electronic purchases. I certainly would not pay full retail for this set, but it's nice and works well.So I already had an extra monitor and after I re-read steps 1&2, I hooked it up, attached the provided mouse and the menu appeared. From there it was pretty basic. I plugged the NVR into my router as suggested with the hope of accessing the content on my desktop for video editing. That may still be possible, but I never actually got an invitation to update the firmware with that connection, which I thought strange and never was able to. It's almost as if it doesn't know it is attached to the internet. Hmmm.At first I had a flipped images on every cam and tried to get technical support from Hikvision, but when they learned I purchased from B&H they quickly shed me to them; so thoughtful. I like B&H, but they seemed to be more interested in adding additional hurdles than helping me with updating the firmware, which I thought was a solution. Long story short, I literally rotated the lenses 180* and it was a fix. You see, these are really made to mount to a flat ceiling and the orientation would have been okay, but I mounted them vertically and that was my issue. You can do this, but how helpful and easy of them to mention this somewhere. There is actually the word "up" on the lens, but I only saw it when I rotated the lens. Again: a heads up on this fact would have saved me a lot of time that I will never get back. I think this is yet another example of not using actual consumers to vet the installation process, instead of really intelligent engineers. I know engineers; you won't get what I am talking about. The other thing is, when you hook up your dedicated monitor, just go ahead and attach their included mouse to the NVR and not expect your desktop to suffice. It will make a lot possible as you maneuver the menu. I knew this was a PoE system and I didn't mind the cable routing as I could stand a skeleton installation in my shop building. If I were doing a retro fit for my house, I would definitely consider a wireless system for convenience. Hope this helps.
