Perfect for renters dealing with ancient sink stoppers
The stoppers in both bathrooms of my apartment broke pretty quickly after moving in. Because I know that things in my old building are repaired past the point of reason, I didn’t want to spend several weeks going back and forth for a fix and ignored it for a while… until a whole bottle of Pataday went down the sink. Being an exceptionally clumsy person, I knew I would need to address before I lost more things. After a few searches, this device stood out for its really good reviews that I can confirm are completely deserved—the Sink Shroom was ridiculously easy to install. Since my drain is 1”, I literally just opened the package and plugged it in, and it’s good to go! It’s really easy to pull out, too. Also in the package is an adapter for folks who have a larger drain—1.5”.

Much better than traditional pop up stopper strainer
I bought a traditional design pop up stopper strainer to replace factory one. It was terrible. Sink filled up with water while washing hands and drained slowly after turning water off. This one is excellent. Water drains quickly and sink does not fill at all. It’s easy to insert and remove for cleaning. And it looks really good too! Haven’t tried the separate stopper yet. Would love to see an all in one strainer and stopper design with high water flow. Very happy with this one.

Save your drains
If you have a problem with hair getting stuck in your sink drains, these are a great stopper! They are lightweight and have little gripper things to hold it in the sink. They are not expensive. Water flows down the sink like normal. Every few days or once a week you pull it up, gather the hair, and gunk and clean the stopper and put it back.

It's great at catching hair, but is just as good at catching food from my water flosser!
4/5 STARS FOR ANYONE NOT USING A WATER FLOSSER AND 3/5 FOR ANYONE DOING SO.It isn't the product's fault, so I will give it the higher rating.I must say, that The SinkShroom works really well at its intended purpose: catching hair. Unfortunately, that's not all it catches for everyone. I imagine it works just great for the average person, but I use a WaterPik (water flossing device). And all that food debris has to go somewhere, and the SinkShroom is REALLY good at capturing them along with any hair that flows through it. And so the more hair it captures, the more food debris gets captured by the hairs blocking the holes too small for the debris to pass through.I used the SinkShroom for almost 2 years before I got fed up with cleaning the mass of gunk that would build up every month or so and ended up clogging my sink's drain. It got pretty gnarly to say the least. I had to regularly scrub the inside and outside of the tub shroom with a small brush in order to get off the food really caked onto the thing. And, depending on what's caught in it, ...it can end up smelling. I wish there was a way I could have the reassurance of hair not going down the drain and clogging it, but I eventually realized that snaking my drain for clogged hair would be a lot less work than the cleaning of the SinkShroom every other month. To the water flossers reading this, I would post a photo if it wasn't so disgusting, so use your imagination. Picture all the food debris from every flossing session just getting added to the same little pile.

Catches everything before it gets into the pipes
We bought this for the laundry room sink where we give our dogs their bath. I noticed it had started to drain slower. Glad we did. I was amazed at how much hair was going down the drain. It was a disaster waiting to happen. This device catches it all, hair, mope bucket debris. Easy to clean out and throw in the trash instead of it going down into the pipes.

Saves on Plumbing Issues
Used the plastic ones for years (still intact) and first time for this metal one. Always good clog prevention for anything, but catches hair the best. First time for the metal one and it is easier to remove hair, but even the plastic ones are simple.

Super easy to install and being metal its more durable.
Better thank those plastic ones, and its about the same price. When the plastic ones get gummed up, I just toss them, this one I can clean easily. It also seems to have a better flow but I don't know about it catching any more/less hair. Comes with 3 size rubber hair catching adapters. I kept the 2 smaller sizes, and tossed out the larger one since its just too larger for my sink. Super easy to install and being metal its more durable.

Do their job and easy to clean
I got this as an upgrade from their previous version that only came in silicone. It was terrible because it got gross and was impossible to clean. The stainless steel versions have been the best drain hair catchers I've ever used (I also have the one for the tub). They do their job and in the stainless steel version, they don't get gross too easily/quickly and are easy to clean.
