Out of the box this was exactly what I expected/as advertised. I was slightly hesitant to due some reviews I read about the board being a little "sticky" when expanded and someone mentioned that theirs "melted" in the sun. I can't speak to durability yet as I've only had it out one time but overall it works great for my situation. I have a 10ft plastic boat (w electric trolling motor) where space is at a premium. I can't comfortably mount anything into the boat's material so the compact/light/expandable bump board really appealed to me. We have an 18" minimum on Walleyes so this board happens to be the perfect length not-expanded (see pics). If I happen to run into any bigger walleyes I can easily expand the board out all the way to get the length. I did take a black permanent marker and highlight the raised lettering on the board to make it easy to read - no biggie there (see pics). It does expand out fully and maintains accuracy fully expanded. Expansion and retraction is quick and easy after doing it a couple times, no issues out of the box here. It does have a small foam insert for flotation which I did not test and don't intend to intentionally ;) In regards to durability, I'll update this review down the line (probably later on this summer) after it's been used several times. Or, if there is no update, assume durability is at least satisfactory as I'm pretty critical of products I purchase. So far though I don't have any complaints and I'm very happy with the functionality/value ratio.

I like everything about it other than when you expand it, it doesn't really lock in well. I may use a heat gun and see if I can adjust the tab to stick up a little more. Other than that, a great addition to the boat and kayak. Gives me full confidence in my keepers, especially if DNR is at the ramp.

I have needed this for a long time. It is plastic and cleans up easily. It can expand for the whales and handle the usual ones nicely. I like that it has places for screws to attach it in place, but we pass it around our boat as needed. Well worth the money.

Price, quality, quick, quick shipping. Much better than I thought. Not valid for pro-fishing tournaments, but $60 cheaper. Game wardens will love you...

I bought this for use in my kayak. Overall this bump board does the trick. Solid construction and durable materials. Issue I have is when you extend the board for larger fish the compression tab/spring tab doesn’t engage and the board separates into two pieces. You end up with a fish in one hand and separated bump board (two pieces). Pretty frustrating. Folding versions work better for kayak fishing because they don’t separate into two pieces. This is a good board if you have a flat level surface to lay it on or permanently mount it somewhere. If not you might be better served with a different model.

Perfect for me. Just lay it across my lap measure the fish, release or into the cooler. Very durable and no worries of rusting in salt water.

Works great. Numbers being the same colour makes it a bit hard to read, but I went over the raised numbers and lines with permanent marker and now it's perfect!
