Logitech UE ROLL Wireless Mobile Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof and Shockproof) - Volcano (2015)

Amazing sound, compact to throw in your purse, with HUGE volume up/down buttons (the orange embroider stitched +/-) on the surface. Well made. Hard to keep clean though...the top is all fabric so yoy almost need to handle it with gloves on.I bought this as a gift to replace one that was stolen at work. I returned to the seller.I assumed Amazon would have the best prices (they often do not) and I reviewed/researched more online when folks reacted to the price and found that $408 including tax is extremely overpriced by comparison.These products don't list the sound power, quality, etc anywhere I could see on the package. Instead they market as "waterproof" which I always find funny. Do that many people actually use them near water so that is THE selling point?I digress. Its a great product but there are others like it on the market at less than half the price. Shop around.

This is my review for UE Roll 360 Wireless Bluetooth SpeakerDesign 5/5: This is one cool looking speaker! I got the volcano colored one and and it comes with a matching colored bungie cord on the back of it. In the front there's a mesh fabric that feels bumpy. In the back of the speaker, it's a nice feeling matte plastic and also there's the plastic flap to plug in the USB charging cable and to hook up a 3.5mm jack if you're going old school. Only if the included USB cable was the same color as the speaker design. I received a vibrant neon green charging cable. I know all the UE speakers come with this cable, but they could have had different colored cables to make it matchPerformance 5/5: Wow! The sound from this little speaker is awesome! It outperformed my previous speaker (Jambox mini) in a cooler design. The sound signature sounds great. There's also a custom mode and bass boost mode if you download the app, but the default settings seems fine. Firmware update was easy with the App. I've tested this in the shower and at the pool and it performs well. I will use this while hiking and attach it to my molly straps on my backpack. I wish it floated, but you can get that floating ring off the UE website.Value 4/5: You can probably get a cheaper speaker that will perform close to this speaker, but you are buying this speaker for the design and multiple color options. You are also buying this speaker for the water proof-ness. I got it on sale for 70 bucks and at that price it's worth it but at 100 bucks, I would have gone with something else.Overall 4.5/5: Go ahead and get the speaker. You will be happy with it. Just it's a little pricey for what you get.

I was an early adopter with bluetooth speakers, having tried models like the Jawbone Jambox. Those were disappointing and kept me away from the category for years. I saw a positive review for these and took the dive. Pleasantly surprising... and loud. Good heavens, these things are impressively loud for their size. Ever met someone who produced a laugh that could just echo off the walls? It's that kind of surprise.The waterproofing on the speaker makes it ideal for carrying into the shower or strapping it on to your motorcycle (!). Occasionally, the wireless connection will experience problems. Significantly more than I've had on a headset such as the LG Tone, but not enough to actually get me upset about it. Minor inconvenience.Audio quality is good, though lacking power in the lower ranges. Electronica and Metal will sound a little underwhelming, while Pop and Oldies Rock & Roll will come through quite fine. The ability to connect two speakers was a little inconsistent at times when turning the speakers back on, but worked well after being connected. It was enjoyable having stereo sound on my motorcycle without having to go to the significant cost and effort of installing a sound system.Lengthy charging time, but reasonable battery life in exchange. All in all, a good buy.

I bought this speaker to replace the two I bought last year for my bike rides. They were much cheaper than this one, and towards the end, the internal batteries barely lasted long enough for me to finish a 1 1/2-2 hour ride listening to music at moderately high volume. Gotta have my jams to keep me motivated, and earbuds are a no-no when you're sharing the road with drivers who come dangerously close to you.I charged it up out of the box and used it for the first time yesterday while working on my cars for 2 hours. Took it out for its inaugural 1 1/2 hour bike ride this morning, and have been using it for the past 4+ hours while putzing around the house - all on the same charge! The only time the audio became distorted was when I tried using my phone while my Sony mp3 walkman was connected via bluetooth.The sound is amazing! Even at near-max volume, it's crystal clear. I'm already impressed at how long the initial charge is lasting. I'm not a techie, but connecting via bluetooth is super easy. Turn it on, search for it on your device & connect. So simple, a child could do it - and I didn't even have to pay one to show me how!The instructions aren't terribly clear, but there are only 3 buttons, so you can easily figure it out. Power (on the back), volume up and volume down (on the front). The included bungee makes it easy to hang on a doorknob, or wrap around the phone/accessory handlebar bag on my bike (see picture).The one thing you can't do is advance tracks with it. Not a biggie if you create playlists that have a good musical flow. Definitely worth the price!
