Vilros Raspberry Pi 4 Basic Kit with Black Fan-Cooled CaseThis flexible computer circuit board is can take the place of your desktop computer, and be used for a wide range of pragmatic and non-pragmatic projects. While this hardware may look intimidating to novices, it is one of the most basic kits available to start building your own computer. What’s more, it comes with a quickstart guide that will help you assemble your processor with ease. The most alluring feature of the Raspberry Pi is not its power but its flexibility. It is so adaptable that as long as your system is cooled properly with the included heat sinks and fan, it facilitates easy overlocking (running your processor at a higher speed than it was designed to run). What’s Included in this Vilros Raspberry Pi 4 Basic Bundle?Model B 4 GB RamBlack Case With Pre-Installed & Ready to connect Fan USB-C 5V 3A Power Supply with On/Off SwitchSet of 4 HeatsinksHDMI (female) to Micro-HDMI (male) AdapterUpdated Quickstart Guide, Second EditionNeoprene Storage Bag With zipper closure and small zipper pocketUses Include:Desktop Computer ReplacementRetro Gaming SetupsBuilding Web ServersBuilding a Stop-Motion CameraBuilding Multiplayer Network Game Servers (Compatible with Open-Source Games Like Minecraft, Quake & Doom)Controlling RobotsMaking Time-Lapse VideosPlaying Audio-Visual MediaPrinting Documents from Outdated PrintersBuilding a Network Monitoring Tool& Much More!Note: SD Card, Keyboard, Mouse, and Monitor are not included.

Great entry into the Raspberry Pi world, just remember to get a MicroSD card which is not included.
Easy to assemble the PI circuit board into case, attach heat syncs, and close the case. I had several MicroSD cards around so that was not a problem but this kit does not include one, so if you don't have a spare lying around you'll need one. The case allows the MicroSD card to be inserted and removed without opening the case.I installed Raspbian (32 bit) via NOOBS, upgraded it to the 64 bit kernel (nspawn). I also used 2nd MicroSD card to install UbuntuPI 20.04 which has worked great, also. I am impressed with the responsiveness of this little machine running the Mate GUI for Ubuntu. The quad core RISC processor seems quite capable of running Ubuntu well. 4GB of RAM means it isn't going to replace a real server but it will be adequate for a workstation or as a learning platform. As an experiment, I attached a 240GB SSD drive in a USB3 case to one of the USB3 ports and it works fine. I copied UbuntuPI to a 128GB MicroSD card and the UbutuPI is quite happy with it, using the entire drive as /.

An Excellent Basic Kit
This RPi4 kit contains the basic items needed to get started with the new Raspberry Pi 4. It's perfect for the person already familiar with the RPi system who does not need a great deal of hand-holding. As usual Vilros does not disappoint. The kit contains a very nice black plastic case that holds the PCB and also contains the mounting holes for placing the RPi camera within the case, a much appreciated feature. The case also contains the fan and an opening that allows easy access to the GPIO connector which was important for me. Heat sinks for the chips are a nice touch. Also appreciated was the power supply, which has a convenient on/off switch. Although it does not come with an SD card, they are inexpensive, and not having a card with small capacity (e.g., 8 or 16 GB) is fine with me. Already had a few 64GB cards to use with the RPi's new Buster operating system. All in all it's a convenient, fast way to get started and Vilros does a fine job of it.One gripe I found out about later: the fan is quite noisy at either 5 V or 3V.

Everything you need for your first Pi
Simple directions, easy to assemble, works well. A good value in all-in-one Pi kits. I especially like the USB-C power supply with an on-off switch; much more convenient than plugging and unplugging. Why only 4 stars? The included fan started making noise after about 20 hours of use. Noisy, unpleasant noise. Lurching, won't-spin-up noise. I had to disassemble the case, remove the fan, remove the sticker, then work some lubricant down inside. A better fan wouldn't need this. A solid aluminum case that doubles as a heatsink wouldn't either. Also, I'd prefer some sort of cover for the GPIO connector - my application doesn't use it and the gaping hole is ugly.minor quibbles. this is still a good value and a great place to start with the Pi.

It's good!
The Pi is the correct version and RAM size. It works beautifully. The fan works nicely. The heatsinks are good. The case is good. The HDMI cable is probably the only thing lacking in quality as is mentioned in a few other reviews. The cable works just fine and I don't use it much at this point as I'm only running Ubuntu server for the most part with this Pi. But for a week or so I was using this as a daily driver to take to work and was getting concerned with the HDMI adapter becoming loose. Specifically the "mini" part of the adapter.

Another great kit from Vilros!
This is my 2nd purchase from Vilros. The first was for a Raspberry Pi 3 kit and it was great. This one is even better! I especially like having an on/off switch and the HDMI adapter saved me from having to buy a new cable. The included fan and heatsinks are also a nice touch. The only thing I'd like to see to make it better is I wish the case included a snap on cover to protect the GPIO connector for situations where the connector isn't needed.

Pi4 is really powerful
Very good experience, work fast and handle easy the load. Box not easy to re open if like me you forgot to plug the camera. once installed I let it run 2 days in a raw with detc mvt activated, no issue, and temp normal. Not included the gpio schematic, but easy to find over internet, to find the right 3.5v and grnd for the fan

No SD card in box - embarassing
Embarassing to sell a pi starter kit that doesn't include even a miniscule SD card. As such, it's not ready-to-go otb. It's safe to assume we all have a keyboard, mouse, & monitor kicking around. Same is not true of a microSD card. Charge $5 more to throw a simple 16gb microSD in the box or be MUCH more upfront about this exclusion.

Not ideal for a turnkey system
I don't know my way around Raspberry Pi's but was looking for something that can act as a turnkey IoT remote monitoring and telemetry device and be quickly sent to a client location. No preloaded OS, no SD card, and the suggested OS image exceeds my only SD card on hand.

Buen producto
