As with all Wheeler products I have used, the punch set is outstanding.

I was a bit skeptical buying this because some bad reviews stating the punches bend or break easy an the hammer is cheap quality but I'm glad I ordered it anyways. I needed a set to take apart my sccy cpx 2 an this set did the job great no issues I did get a slight bend in one of the small steel punches but that was more my fault I'm sure because I got it stuck in a frame pin hole, tapped it in a tad to far and had to pull an twist an hammer it out backwards but it still works great. Ive used it since than an it hasn't bent anymore so I'd say it's a pretty strong little punch. so far I've used this set to hammer out pins on a couple firearms and replace a clutch arm on a 300ex 4 wheeler. I also love that it comes in a hard case to keep everything nice and handy and organized. it is hard to get some of the punches in an out of there spots, it's a tight fit, but I'd rather have it be to tight then to loose an falling out or rattling an it'll probably loosen up a bit from use.

I've started to do basic work on my firearms at home and quickly ran into cases where I needed the right type of punch to avoid doing damage. So far, I've used this set to detail-strip my Zastava M57 (Tokarev) and punch out stubborn pins on sporting rifles, as well as doing some work on an MP5 clone. You get a lot of different sizes for your money, as well as a non-marring hammer, which I found invaluable when reinstalling the extractor pin in the M57 slide. You also get a couple polymer punches which are just the right size for larger takedown pins, as on the MP5 and AR-pattern rifles. However, the smaller punches are steel - probably necessary for strength, but do be aware that they can scratch or mar in a way the brass and polymer pins won't. Most frustratingly, the 1/16th inch punch is incredibly fragile - I bent two of them with very gentle and perfectly-aligned taps, and was so surprised at how little strength they had that I exchanged the item. The second set arrived with one of the 1/16th punches already bent - probably a set someone else had returned once! With the sole exception of the 1/16th punch, I'd strongly recommend picking this up if you have a couple firearms and are looking to do anything beyond everyday field stripping. It's an ideal starter kit and the price is right.

We bought this set of hammer and punches some years ago, and I've probably used it at least a couple times a week since we got it. It's perfect for small projects, like gun smithing or 3D printing, machine work, anything that needs a fine hand and small tools to knock things into or out of holes. This is my go-to whenever I need a small hammer, for anything. The punches are well made and durable, and the hammer is perfectly weighted. It has a metal striking surface and a plastic striking surface, which is handy.

I have many Wheeler products and appreciate the quality. This is a nice punch set. Excellent value. Essential for gun smithing.

Been a gun owner for over a decade but would always go to a gunsmith for even little things because I wasn't confident working on them myself for fear of messing up. Def recommend others to just dive in and buy a few thing such as a sturdy vise, this kit, and a couple of allen wrenches. Now ive build my own AR15's replaced triggers and sights etc on my pistols and worked on others. Not only do you save $$$, you really gain a deeper insight into how your guns work and function. The punch set/kit is great. Hammer works wonderfully. Punches are all great and durable. Highly recommend to others
