Only fits a certain size of drive
I purchased this unit to use as a rack mount storage array for my home office. I liked that it was silent and advertised high throughput. Unfortunately, it wouldn't securely hold my drives in place.I tried two drives:1. A Samsung 2.5" 256GB SSD. It fit in the slot, and I was able to use and access it, but it would move around in the slot and was only held in place by the SATA connector while the rest of the drive hung in midair in the slot. I didn't like the idea of putting that constant strain on the connector, which isn't designed to hold weight.2. A Seagate Barracuda ST4000LM024 4 TB 2.5" HDD. This wouldn't even fit in the slot, so I couldn't use it at all.Since it wouldn't work for my purpose, I returned it. But I'm sure if you find drives with exactly the right form factor, it would work fine.

Honestly, buy something else.
Update - yeah this thing sucks,.No power cord, as many have noted. No USB-C cable. AND the drives dont really fit snuggly in and you kind of have to work to get it to stay put. This should be a $20 device, not something that costs over 600 DOLLARS OMG! I honestly am still having challenges getting it to work. I would've returned in a heartbeat except, when it was delivered, I was moving so I didnt get to test it until after the return period had passed. I would not recommend.

Reads at 38 MB/a Writes at 39 MB/s - slower than a HHD
Terrible performance - tested with BlackMagic's Disk Speed Test via USB-C in 2021 MacBook Pro. My v1 multicocks were MUCH faster. Returning.

Great Bay As Long As It Works
I have one at my home studio and all of the audio pros where I work have one and I have liked both of them. The dock at my work office is still going strong after 3 years but my home office dock which is just shy of 2 years old had one of the drive bays fail without much warning. One of my coworkers with the bay also had a drive bay fail. I wouldn't say that I've driven mine any harder than an average user who needs a lot of data storage. It's a great device as long as it works but knowing that in real world usage, two out of the 6 units that I see every day have failed in some way.
